DIVING & SNORKELING

You’ll feel like a kid in a candy shop when diving in the BVI. Check off countless dive sites on your list, from countless towering reefs of healthy corals, underwater caves, tunnels, extraordinary shipwrecks and massive boulders and grottoes and spectacular visibility.
Pristine turquoise waters, balmy air temperatures year-round and unforgettable underwater scenery no matter where you dive keeps the adrenaline pumping for everyone from novice snorkelers to experienced scuba divers.
KITEBOARDING & WINDSURFING
Hook In and Hold On is the term we use here in the BVI.
Get a new perspective on the British Virgin Islands as you take on big air above our gentle waters. Catch a glimpse of the action from your spot on the beach and you’ll be eager to give kiteboarding or windsurfing a try at one of several well-established rental locations throughout the BVI. Virgin Gorda, North Sound is a favorite spot to head when the wind is blowing as the Eustatia Reef keeps things from getting too rough. It’s all smooth sailing from here.
SURFING
Harmonize your spirit with nature.
The British Virgin Islands are known for their secrets, but don’t miss the whisper in the waves: The BVI offers incredible surfing for those trying to catch a big wave, or just catch a mellow break on the water. We offer several surf schools to get you up and riding your first wave. As if the waves weren’t enough, look up from your board and you’ll find yourself surrounded by some of the world’s largest reefs, tropical fish and friendly fellow surfers (especially in Tortola’s Cane Garden Bay).
FISHING
Cast away your days in paradise.
Every good fisherman knows you have to go where the fish are – and the British Virgin Islands do not disappoint. Whether you’re offshore hooking into a trophy marlin or combing the shallows fly-fishing for world-class tarpon, local guides always know where the fish are biting.
Fishing permits are required. Be sure to get one at the Conservation and Fisheries Department. Also, there are seasons that some fish and lobsters are not permitted to be caught and that list can be found from the at www.bvidef.org.
Fishing Permits
The removal of any marine organism from British Virgin Islands waters is illegal for non-BVIslanders without a recreational fishing permit. Contact The Department of Conservation & Fisheries, Tel: (284) 468-2700 for information. A Recreational Fishing License is defined as a license granted to a person who catches fish on a catch-and-release basis. Visiting tourists usually conduct this type of fishing activity. It is ILLEGAL to have in one’s possession billfish such as Blue & White Marlin, Sailfish and Sword Fish. It is also ILLEGAL to have more than thirty pounds of fish by weight in one’s possession per boat. If granted by the Department of Conservation and Fisheries, a Pleasure/Recreational Fishing License is valid for one month.
BEACHES
Measure happiness in grains of sand.
Lounging seaside in the British Virgin Islands is unimaginably blissful – but first, you have to decide where you’ll lay your towel down. The magic of each island extends to its beaches, from surf-friendly shores in Anegada to the untouched sands of Tortola’s Smuggler’s Cove. If we had to list all the gorgeous options we’d be here all day, so let’s just say this: you’ll never run out. A couple things you can always count on? Endless skies, inviting water and an absolute sense of relaxation.
WATER SPORTS
