Day 1 Arrive Tromso
Arrival Tromso airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Your tour leader will meet you upon arrival at the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Tromso is 320km above the Arctic Circle and despite this very north location it still is home to a great number of international standard hotels, lively cafes, world class seafood restaurants, lots of museum and captivating galleries as well as an exciting nightlife.

Day 2 Tromso (By Road) ( 23 kms / 30 min appx )
Proceed to two hour panoramic tour of Tromso. Our tour helps us discover the city that sits between fjords and mountains. We begin with a visit to the outside of the famous Arctic Cathedral this strange looking building was created with a unique iceberg effect. We’ll walk through the old city that retains a partially pedestrianised system and we’ll pass colourful old wooden houses and discover the largest wooden cathedral in Norway.
After lunch (at own cost) your day is free to explore the city on your own. Why not visit one of the many museums or visit the most northerly brewery in the world for a tasty beverag. There is also an optional visit to the Polar Museum Tromso has long been an important base for many polar expeditions. This museum presents the men, women, ships and equipment that were essential to the life at sea and in the Arctic.This evening we depart for our first Northern Lights hunt. Our team will endeavour to take you wherever the chances to admire this amazing show are optimal. In order to succeed they use satellites that observe the evolution of the phenomenon and choose the place of observation based on these findings.

Day 3 Tromso – Narvik (By Road) ( 249 kms / 3 hrs 45 min)
Proceed to enter into the Tromso region today. We discover different immaculate landscapes and immense walls of snow. You’ll experience Polarpark the world’s most northerly wildlife park. You’ll have the opportunity to meet the big predators of the Arctic including the lynx, wolf and wolverine as well as elk, reindeer , musk ox and Arctic fox.This afternoon we continue to Narvik – the famous port city where we will spend the night. Narvik was known to be a strategic place during the Second World War why not learn more about this at the Narvik War Museum.

Day 04 Narvik – Andenes (By Road) ( 290 kms / 4 hrs 20 min)
Proceed to Vesteralen. Vesteralen is a kingdom filled with hundreds of large and small islands that form a beautiful natural landscape. The land consists of mountains, rolling hills, deep valleys, white sandy beaches, colourful fishermen houses and narrow fjords. We take a visit to a reindeer farm and discover this fascinating animal. After a typical lunch of the region (included) we learn all about the Sami culture and listen to joiks (stories) in a lavvo (Sami tent). We’ll sit around the fire, visit reindeer herds and feed them. Afterwards we continue on to Andenes – the northern tip of Vesteralen.

Day 5 Andenes – Svolaer (By Road) ( 210 kms / 3 hrs appx )
Proceed to really unique experience. We go on a journey that will bring us closer to whales and sometimes the famous orca. These huge mammals tend to meet in this area during the winter period. We’ll have the opportunity to observe orca and humpback whales in full operation. There is an expert marine biologist on board to explain everything we may observe. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available throughout the cruise.After the cruise we depart for Svolaer – the capital of Lofoten.

Day 6 Svolaer – Harstad (By Road) ( 168 kms / 2 hrs 30min appx )
Proceed to the Lofoten Islands – these stunning islands are dominated by towering snowy peaks that end in the sea. The islands are separated from the mainland by the Vestfjord, these islands create a chain of about 150km from north to south between islands and bays. This region is very famous for cod fishing in the high season.
Day 7 Harstad – Tromso (By Cruise) (6 hrs 30 min appx )
Proceed to the port to climb aboard the Hurtigruten cruise back down to Tromso. It takes about 6.5 hours and you’ll experience breathtaking views along the route. This coastal voyage is synonymous with Norway and is sometimes described as the World’s Most Beautiful Sea Voyage. We arrive into Tromso in the afternoon. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 8 Depart Tromso
Departure transfer to onwards destination.
