Chandigarh Golf Club was started in 1962 in the well-planned city of Chandigarh which is a 5 hour drive from Delhi. It is a full 18 hole golf course in Chandigarh and is centrally located in the city. This Par 72 golf courses is known for its tight fairways. The fairways are abundantly lined with a variety of trees such as Mango, Eucalyptus, Jamun, Kikar and other species. With thick roughs and good greens, it makes for an enjoyable round of golf. The golf club also possesses one of the longest Par-5s in India, the seventh hole, which measures 613 yards.
The Chandigarh Golf Club also has the distinction of being one of the golf courses in India which had a floodlit 9 hole course and a floodlit driving range. The golf course is closed on Monday and is open on all other days. You can hire caddies but golf carts are limited and the course is mostly a walking course. Access on weekdays is easy and tee times are mostly available. Weekend access on the other hand, at the Chandigarh golf course, is more difficult and as a visitor it is best to plan your round for a weekday.
