The Gaekwad Baroda Golf Club is located in Vadodara, Gujarat and is probably one of India’s most unique and beautiful golf clubs, built as it is, around the 125-year old Royal Laxmi Villas Palace. It was the first private golf course in the area, but is now open to public, though the Baroda Royals continue to inhabit the palace.
The Gaekwad Baroda Golf course is anchored around the palace and is a challenging layout demanding accuracy. The course features mature neem and tamarind trees, historical structures and beautiful peacocks.
The club also supports other sports, such as, two championship designed tennis courts, an indoor badminton court and a large swimming pool. Other facilities include restaurant, changing rooms, pro shop, gym, steam and massage rooms.
