Your journey into the wild side of Sihanoukville begins as you are picked up from port by your expert guide and driven out of the city to Ream National Park. This mountainous reserve contains a breeding sanctuary for a variety of endangered birds. Look up and you just might see a grey-headed fish eagle soaring majestically over the Prek Touek Sap Estuary.
Stop by a pepper farm that has been family-owned and cultivated for several generations, then head to the hilltop pagoda of Wat Leu. This picturesque Buddhist temple is surrounded by a high stone wall and offers spectacular overviews of the city below. Take a photo of the three-headed elephant carved into the stone wall before leaving to enjoy a delicious Khmer lunch.
Continue on to the beautiful, 14-meter high Kbal Chhay Waterfalls. Fed with waters from several mountain sources, these falls were once used to hide the Khmer Rouge soldiers during war and today are used as a clean water source. See the colorful fishing boats docked at Tumnuk Rolok fishing village and watch the fisherman cast their nets for the day’s catch as you learn about local fishing customs before your return trip back to port. Sign up now to experience the charm and traditions of Sihanoukville’s countryside.
