Expect photo opportunities galore as you ride a boat to the dolphin habitat. This 20-minute trek will either introduce you to the island’s vast canal systems or highlight its south shore; the captain will choose the route based on the day’s weather conditions. Ultimately, you’ll arrive at the famous 9-acre lagoon known as Sanctuary Bay. This location is home to 14 different dolphins. While here, you’ll learn fun facts about these creatures and step out onto a platform for a quick kiss from a dolphin. A professional photographer will take your photo as well; photos are available for purchase at the end of the tour.
Once you’ve played with the dolphins, you have some time to enjoy the area and take in the tremendous views. Lunch is available at the nearby Dive In Bar and Grill, (not included in the tour price). This Freeport dolphin tour is open to all ages, but participants under the age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Jewelry must be removed prior to the dolphin portion of this excursion. The whole tour lasts approximately 2 hours including transportation time.
