The tour begins at Usher Hall, gifted to Edinburgh and Scotland by Stuart Usher’s family. Stuart presents his extensive knowledge of Edinburgh’s history, architecture, and famous people in an informative, personable, enjoyable, and humorous manner.
Visit the famous Royal Mile and other sites while Stuart keeps you amused and entertained with stories of famous characters associated with Edinburgh. Enjoy anecdotes about characters such as the great historical romance author, Sir Walter Scott; inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell; creator of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; writer of the original Jekyll and Hyde, Robert Louis Stevenson; and Deacon Brodie.
Some of the buildings associated with these characters and other major historical sites of interest will be visited, including the beautiful St. Giles Cathedral. In the world famous National Galleries, view paintings from old masters such as Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Raphael, Titian, and others, while Stuart gives his personal insights into the paintings.
