Day 01: Arrival
Arrive at the airport meet and assist Transfer to hotel.
Overnight in Hotel.
Day 02: Transfer-Rusizi National park
Have breakfast in the early morning and there after take a short drive to Rusizi National Park. You will have an opportunity to view hippos, sitatungas (antelope) and a wide variety of birds attracted to the wetland environment. There after, you can retire for lunch at mid day and later, you are free to relax at your hotel.
Day 03. Waterfall Visit-Burundi National Museum
Today after your early breakfast, you will be driven towards the south to visit “Chutes de la Kagera” or the spectacular Kagera Falls. In the afternoon you will travel to Gitega where you explore the Burundi National Museum before returning to your hotel for dinner.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 04: Discovering Bujumbura on city tour
Have breakfast and afterwards, you will be taken to see the grave of Prince Louis Rwagasore, a hero of the independence in Burundi. You will then be guided on a climb to the “Belvedere” on the top of the hill, a dominating point of Bujumbura, offering a unique view over Lake Tanganyika. Have lunch there after of which you will be driven ten kilometres south to visit “La Pierre de Stanley et Livingstone” the commemorating stone of the place where the famous explorer Stanley uttered the infamous “Dr Livingstone, I presume” on meeting the legendary Scotsman.
Day 05: Transfer- Ruvubu National Park
On this day after breakfast you will be driven to the largest protected area in northern Burundi, Ruvubu National Park which neighbors Nyungwe National Park in Rwanda and is the largest rainforest in Burundi. It has the best hiking opportunities and the most artistic views. Use this opportunity to take in as much as you can because there few places in the world that has a display of what you will see in one package.
Drive back to hotel for dinner and night.
Day 06: Kibira Forest National Park-Lake Tanganyika
In the morning you will be driven to Kibira Forest National Park for a walk in the forest where you will see different species of birds and monkeys. Have lunch and for the afternoon, you will travel back to Bujumbura and transfer to Lake Tanganyika where you will relax at Saga Beach with entertainment by Burundi Drummers while enjoying a cold drink. a boat tour on the Lake Tanganyika can be arranged so that you can enjoy the calm wavy waters with a refreshing breeze. Lucky for swimmers an opportunity for you to swim in the calm lake awaits.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 07: Bujumbura City Tour-Departure
After breakfast check out of the hotel. You are free to shop around for souvenirs to show off to your friends back home. Later transfer to the airport to catch the flight for onward journey.
