Israel is located in the Levant area of the Fertile Crescent region. The country is at the eastern end of the Mediterranean Sea, bounded by Lebanon to the north, Syria to the northeast, Jordan and the West Bank to the east, and Egypt and the Gaza Strip to the southwest. Travel to the Jordan River, where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, and experience the Golden City of Jerusalem, walk the Stations of the Cross on the Via Dolorsa, stand at the Mount of Olives, where its written Jesus ascended in to heaven.
Day 01 Arrive Tel Aviv/Tel Aviv–Jericho– Dead sea–Jerusalem (125 km/ 2 hrs)
Arrival to Ben Gurion, meet assist and proceed to Bethany, and Lazarus Tomb, drive to Jericho, the world’s oldest city. From the excavated Tel atop the ruins of ancient Jericho, we view the lush green Jordan Valley, Elisha’s spring and Qarantal, the Mount of Temptation. Dead Sea swim. Short tour in Jerusalem and transfer to your hotel.Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02 Jerusalem
After breakfast, proceed to City of David, David Tomb, and the last Supper, St. Peter in Gallicanto (The Cock Crows) where Jesus was held in the house of the High Priest Caiaphas, New city, drive to Bethlehem and visit Nativity church, the Manger, the Crusader’s Cloister and the Grotto of St. Jerome, Shepherd’s Field, transfer to visit Church of Visitation, birthplace of John the Baptist, where Mary uttered the words of the Magnificat. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 Jerusalem
After Breakfast, proceed to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. We visit the Church of Pater Noster and the Chapel of Ascension. We continue with a walk down the hill to Dominus Flevit Chapel where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. We proceed to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations where Jesus endured his Agony. Enter the Old city from Dung gate, visiting Walling wall, Dome of the Rock, Via Dolorosa, visit church of St. Anne, and the Pool of Bethesda, follow the Via Dolorosa (Stations of the Cross) through the Old City to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.Overnight at Hotel.
Day 04 Jerusalem – Eilat (By Raod) (318 kms/4 hrs 10 min appx.)
After breakfast, proceed to Eilat, free day at leisure. Return to the hotel
Day 05 Eilat
After Breakfast, proceed to visit Timna Park: Situated 25 minutes north of Eilat, Timna Valley enfolds the story of the world’s earliest copper mines, dating more than 6000 years ago when man first began smelting copper ore. In Timna’s amazing natural surroundings, ancient Egyptians established a massive copper mining operation, between the 14th & 12th centuries BCE. The copper ingots were then shipped to Egypt mainland form Pharaoh’s Island (also known as Coral Island) which was at the time the only natural port in the area.
“Mines of Time” – a multimedia presentation on a revolving stage that takes you on a fascinating journey to ancient Egypt. The stories of a bygone age include the origin of the copper serpent and the significance of the Egyptian Gods to the copper cult.
“The Mushroom” – A wonderful natural rock formation of a perfect mushroom created from red sandstone, situated next to the work camp where the copper ore was smelted in special ovens.
“The Arches” – A natural phenomena, the stone Arch. Here one can climb a few steps and look upon an incredible setting. “Solomon’s Pillars and the Temple of the Goddess Hathor” – incredible 50 meter-high pillars from Timna’s sandstone. To the right of the pillars stone stairs lead to an Egyptian rock carving in which we see Pharaoh Ramses III presenting an offering to the Goddess of mines and turquoise, Hathor. From the viewing platform we can see the remains of the temple dedicated to the Goddess.
“Timna Lake” – In the lake’s area you will have a chance to fill out colored sandstone bottles & enjoy a Bedouin style tea or coffee at the local Bedouin tent.Return to the Hotel.
Day 06 Eilat
After Breakfast, proceed to visit “Eilat’s Coral World Underwater Observatory is a public aquarium, park and conservation center located in Eilat, Israel. It is the biggest public aquarium in Israel, and it hosts over 800 species. It was founded in 1974 and was the first of its kind. The park and aquarium is located to the south of Eilat’s Coral Beach nature reserve.” it includes 20,000 types of sea creatures (Not including the wild aquatic animals that can be seen from the observatory, and hatchlings, considering most aquatic species are capable of laying hundreds of eggs).Return to the Hotel
Day 07 Eilat – Tel Aviv (By Road) (352 kms/4 hrs 10 min) / Depart Tel Aviv.
Departure transfer to onward destination.
