La Libertad’s harbor holiday resort and Mercado del Mar:
Sun and beach destination located 34 kilometers from the San Salvador city, where you can enjoy gastronomy and recreation services in a family enviroment, it has a tourist boardwalk, restaurant area, seafood sales, office area, vehicle and parking for boats and artisan dock.

Sihuatehuacán
Its name in Nahuatl means: “City of the Priestesses”, “Witches or Soreceresses”. It is located to the east of the “Morena City” of Santa Ana, at a distance of 65 kilometers from the capital city and was inaugurated in 1973.
This park is of volcanic origin, offers a warm climate and its three refreshing pools nourished with spring water, offer the best combination of nature and freshness in its 17 acres of extension, with pedestrian paths where you can be in contact with nature and enjoy beautiful gardens.
Sihuatehuacán offers its visitors modern family cabins, picnic area, parking area, skating rink, restaurants, a large outdoor amphitheater with capacity for a thousand people and a modern soccer field, among other attractions.
Ichanmichen
Its name in Nahuatl means: “House of the Little Fish” or “The Cave of the Little Fish”, it is located 52 kilometers from the city of San Salvador. This paradisiacal place was donated to the state by Antonio Avendaño Osorio and Antonio Domínguez, owners of the haciendas where the park is currently located, during the period of Mr. Raúl Contreras at the head of the National Tourism Board, being inaugurated in 1952.
The park has an area of 75 acres of land and has three pool áreas, “Popular area”, “Family area” and “Fountain area”, with two pools for children and five ponds; as well as two water sources, a 6.50 meter high slide and two free fall slides.
As part of the mythological attractions, Ichanmichen has sources of crystalline water such as the pools of “El Cipitío”, “La Ciguanaba”, “The fountain of Xochitl”, “Valentina´s corner” and “The Mermaid´s pond”, all surrounded by abundant vegetation.
Amapulapa
Amapulapa is located 60 kilometers from San Salvador, its name in Nahuatl means: “River where the Amates sink”, located near the city of San Vicente 60 kilometers east of San Salvador and with an area of 57 acres of land .
The wealth of this natural park is found in its soil of volcanic origin dominated by ash and lava in which many water sources emerge from which it is nourished, the flora is characterized by beautiful and giant Amates that provide thick foliage and embellish the place.
Among the main services offered by this park are four natural pools for adults, a water slide, three pools for children with interactive games, rest areas, picnic, cabins, parking, restaurants, among others.
Apastepeque Lagoon
Its name in Nahuatl means “Hill of the large vessels” or “Hill of the alabastros”. This recreational park is located in the department of San Vicente, Apastepeque canton, 64 kilometers from the capital city and with an area of 2.61 acres.
In 1963 the beautification of the surroundings of the Laguna de Apastepeque was decreed, considering it to be of public utility, the park being inaugurated in 1979 by Lic. Alfredo Menéndez Magaña.
This recreational space includes a beach area, a swimming pool, restaurant, trails, picnic areas, cabins; and for those who seek to admire the landscape and the passivity of its waters, the park has a cozy boardwalk and a floating dock from which you will enjoy a mirror of fresh wáter.
This lagoon rests on a volcanic explosion crater, the vegetation cover on the banks of it is typified as a sub-tropical humid forest, with a tropical transition; considered one of the main life zones of El Salvador, it extends from the volcanic chain to the coastal plains.
Apulo
Apulo means in Nahuatl “Place that sinks in water”; This site is located in the Canton Dolores Apulo, Ilopango, 16 kilometers from the capital, between the departments of San Salvador, Cuscatlán and La Paz and has an area of 74 acres of land, of which 28 are developed.
Lake Ilopango, the main attraction of this recreational park is of volcanic origin, its crater is located right at the bottom of the lake and according to historical data the cauldron was formed as a result of a cataclysmic eruption, producing huge pyroclastic flows that destroyed different Mayan cities.
In this park you can enjoy a boardwalk, pier and an impressive lighthouse as main attractions, in addition to two swimming pools, ample parking, picnic areas and restaurants; and a modern beach soccer stadium.
If you visit this place with family or friends, the picnic areas offer you local dishes such as boneless mojarra and the typical fried pepescas, as well as different seafood and traditional dishes, which are prepared with a high level of quality.
