The Highlands
This central region of Madagascar offers many landscapes all more incredible than magical. Go for a walk along the 12 hills surrounding Antananarivo (the capital), or go for a walk in Antsirabe and its many natural baths. A multitude of places to discover and share with family or friends.
ANTANANARIVO, MADAGASCAR CAPITAL : THE CITY OF THE THOUSAND
Antananarivo is a real concentrate of what the island reserves in an urban framework. It is the capital of Madagascar, and is called “the City of thousands, referring to 1000 treasures to discover. With your family, visit a “rova,” a palace of the royal era, or wander through the animal parks to discover the fauna and flora visible all around the island. In solo or in couple, there is a trek to go through the 12 sacred hills to discover the Malagasy gastronomy in one of the restaurants of the upper city. Antananarivo offers you a rich journey for young and old.
ANTSIRABE, THE CITY OF WATER
You can’t visit the Central Highlands without going to Antsirabe, located at 1500m of an altitude. You will recognize it by its numerous colorful rickshaws that line the streets. The city is famous for its textiles, tobacco, and agricultural production, but also famous for its water, renowned throughout the world for its therapeutic properties. It is surrounded by three lakes and a rich vegetation, and you’ll have the opportunity to do many activities with your family and friends.
AMBATOLAMPY, CITY OF THE MERINA LANDS
Small hamlet with undeniable charm, Ambatolampy is a small typical city of the Highlands region. It is located a few kilometers at the foot of the Ankarana massif and is well known for its foundries and production of aluminum objects. This is an authentic gateway in the countryside of Madagascar, not far from the capital.
The North
You cannot resist to take a bath in the turquoise water that borders the North Coast of Madagascar. Succumb to the temptation and discover these landscapes that are more fabulous than the others.
THE ARCHIPELAGO OF NOSY BE, A POSTCARD LANDSCAPE
Nosy Be is the main island of an archipelago of a dozen small islands. It is called the island of perfumes because of its scents of ylang ylang, sugar cane and spices. It is a land of dreams and adventure, and you can practice many activities there. You can also enjoy the heavenly beaches littering the coasts.
DIEGO SUAREZ, DESTINATION OF ADVENTURES AND RELAXATION
Diego Suarez is the main town north of Madagascar. It is a dreamy destination and offers a range of nautical and land activities, in an incredible and breathtaking setting. SAVA, CRADLE OF AN EXCEPTIONAL VEGETATION
The Sava Region is the world capital of vanilla. There are four main cities: Sambava (the main one), Antalaha, Vohemar, and Andapa. The region stretches over 25000km² and offers a multitude of landscapes that are still preserved from mass tourism. It will delight lovers of nature and peaceful countrysides, because it gathers almost the whole primary forest of the island, as well as numerous plantations (coconut groves, rice fields, orchards, etc).
The North-West
Discover the North West of Madagascar, and visit Majunga, a port city of the Boeny region. You should also visit the Bemaraha park with its impressive Tsingy.
VISIT THE BEMARAHA NATIONAL PARK
The Tsingy was the first refuge for the inhabitants of the island and it is located 820km west of Antananarivo. The Tsingy offers one of the most spectacular landscapes in Madagascar. This is why it was the first UNESCO World Heritage Site, followed by the Bemaraha park. You will be able to admire these fabulous landscapes with sharp spikes.
The East
Between stretches of white sandy beaches and lush forests, the East Coast offers the best of Madagascar. For those who love nature, or simply for those who seek adventure, your favorite terrain for different activities will be the coast, whether it is for a hike, a cultural tour, a motorized raid, or just being massaged by the beach. Madagascar’s East Coast will delight the young and the old at any time of day or night. Malagasy people are waiting for you with arms full of tropical fruits and shell necklaces.
ANDASIBE-MANTADIA NATIONAL PARK
Andasibe-Mantadia National Park, only three hours away from Antananarivo, will delight the young and old alike. Get into the forest and discover the exceptional wild. There is a good chance that you will catch sight of some lemurs perched on the top of a tree, coming to greet you, both day and night.
THE PANGALANES CANAL, AN ADVENTURE OFF THE BEATEN TRACK
Embark on a boat to sail the 400km of watercourses. The Pangalanes offer a total change of scenery – lush vegetation containing a rich biodiversity. Local people and in particular, the epiroguiers will accompany you on your journey to discover all the nooks and crannies of the Panganal Canal.

ANDRINGITRA NATIONAL PARK
This National Park belongs to World Heritage of UNESCO. It is the second highest peak in Madagascar and is fomed of granit and gneiss. An exceptional adventure awaits you: splendid landscapes, picturesque villages, and incomparable diversity.
FIANARANTSOA, CAPITAL OF BETSILEO
Madagascar’s highland town, Fianarantsoa extends over three floors. With its traditional houses, its many churches and its wine culture, there are many things to visit ! True crossroads, it is located on the RN7 at 400 km from Tananarive in the heart of the South-East region.
The South-West

TULEAR, SOUTH CAPITAL
Tulear, also called Toliara, is the capital of the southern region of Madagascar. The city is bathed by the sun all year long, and offers a rich cultural life. It’s a long journey from the capital to go there, but you will love to relax on its dreamy beaches!

MORONDAVA, CAPITAL OF MENABE
Morondava is located at the gates of the Avenue of the Baobabs. It is the capital of the Menabe Kingdom. It offers many landscapes, each more breathtaking than the other. The sea intermingles with the ground tinted in red, offering an incredible scenery.
