The club house at the Royal Colombo Golf Club is laden with colonial character and by itself is worth the trip from a city hotel. The golf course is unique in its own way, featuring amongst other things, a railway line running through it. Mature trees and water bodies abound, warranting straight if not long hitting to shoot a low score. Interestingly, at the Royal Colombo golf course, to go with the water bodies, waterboys also abound, who will at least be able to retrieve your wet ball for a little money. Too bad they can’t retrieve your stroke.
