THRESHER SHARKS
Be a silent witness. These elusive masters of the deep can only be seen in Malapascua Island. Every day, thresher sharks would come up from its habitat deep in the sea to have itself cleaned. Divers would need to wake up early though as they can only be seen from 4AM – 5AM.
SARAP SARANGANI
The municipalities of Maasim, Kiamba, and Maitum are known for paragliding, diving, and river tubing adventures respectively. Also, not to be missed when in these places are their food products and delicacies one can’t find elsewhere. These include the tuna pookee being offered at Lemlunay Resort; nelut onok of the T’boli tribe in Kiamba; and Mase Juice and Cresilda’s Coffee of Cresing’s in Maitum.
SUMILON ISLAND
Located at the southern tip of Cebu, Sumilon Island is a 24-hecatre island that boasts of lush vegetation and crystal clear waters. The place is ideal for snorkeling and diving because its waters are rich breeding areas for many marine species.
MALAPASCUA ISLAND
It was on Christmas day when the Spaniards reached the island. According to the town folks, it was supposed to be a special day for celebration but unfortunately a storm hit the island and so came the name “MALAPASCUA”, MALAS SA PASKO, which means “Unfortunate Christmas” in English. Malapascua is sometimes referred to as “LOGON”, the main community in the south. “Logon” got its name when the Japanese and American fought over the island during the WWII. The island is 3 kms. Long and 1 km. wide, with the population of about 3,000. It has white sand beaches, and crystal clear water. The west coast is ideal for swimming and snorkeling but one should be careful because of unpredictable weather. A walk or tour on the island can be done within half a day.
PESCADOR ISLAND’S SARDINE RUN

MATANGALE ALIBUAG DIVE RESORT
Dive shop offers dive tours and whale shark/dolphin watching adventure tours. To reach the resort, one can take a bus from Agora Bus Terminal in Cagayan de Oro City going to the Municipality of Balingoan. Average travel time from the city to the resort is about 90 minutes.
