WHERE TO GO OUT IN LUXEMBOURG?
It is not only during the daytime that Luxembourg offers beautiful experiences and enjoyable discoveries; you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice during the evenings too. Start off with some interactive fun in the form of laser games or escape rooms, before moving on to cheese and wine, live comedy and pints, or dinner followed by dancing.
SHOPPING IN LUXEMBOURG
Many nationalities live and work in Luxembourg and this dynamic, cosmopolitan atmosphere also reflects on the shopping possibilities. You’ll find a surprisingly large and appealing offer, including both renowned international brands and small quirky shops.
LOCAL PRODUCTS SPECIALTIES OF LUXEMBOURG
With its vineyards and breweries, its producers of meats and cheeses, Luxembourg has a range of unique and enticing flavours. It is these boutique producers who shape the local landscape with their passion and expertise. Between infusions, oils, herbs and cereals “Vum Séi”, local products create a gourmet basket, which for decades has been attracting visitors, foodies and gourmets alike. Regional products are also on almost all restaurant menus, which are only too happy to plate Luxembourg specialities on their card.
CAMPING IN LUXEMBOURG
Whether you like traditional camping or prefer the more glamorous version, glamping, you will have trouble finding a better destination than Luxembourg. The Grand Duchy is known for the high quality of its campsites and alternative lodgings, as well as for the exceptional settings in which they are located.
The campsites can be found amid valleys and hills, next to lakes or rivers, at the edge of the woods and never far from the dense network of hiking trails and bicycle paths that cross the country from one end to the other. You will always be in the middle of beautiful unspoiled nature and receive a warm welcome. The locals take hospitality very seriously and will go to great lengths to make you feel at home. No matter where you decide to put up camp, you will find that the quality of life and the standard of comfort will exceed all of your expectations.
Campsites offer a profusion of activities for all ages and sought-after infrastructures, including swimming pools, sports, wellness, small shops and restaurants. The astute holidaymaker will turn to a 4-star campsite or 5-star village to find everything that is expected of a modern tourist resort.
As for those who enjoy glamping (also known as camping for nature lovers who like an extra touch of luxury), they will find many campsites offering more unusual lodgings (cabins, safari tents, pods…).
ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN IN LUXEMBOURG
Luxembourg is extremely child-friendly and nothing is spared to ensure that kids have a good time while visiting. In every corner of the country you’ll find a large number of places and activities devoted to making them happy. No matter what the weather is like, there are a variety of ideas to ensure that young people of all ages have something fun to do and that the whole family can enjoy the outings.
You’ll quickly discover that the Grand Duchy has an impressive amount of playgrounds and recreational areas – both outdoors and indoors – and quiet a lot of adventure and climbing parks. Those who want to combine playtime and rides with a zoo visit should head off to the Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg without further ado. The Gaalgebierg Animal Park, just next to the large playgrounds and the beautiful municipal park in Esch-sur-Alzette, is also definitely worth a visit.
Explorers of all ages will have the time of their life discovering the old mines in the south of the Luxembourg or down in the capital’s underground Casemates. Those who prefer to reach for the sky will be thrilled to try out the Vianden chairlift, which can be perfectly paired with a visit to Vianden Castle. It’s one of the many castles you can visit in Luxembourg and which offers special events or activities for children – as do the majority of the museums.
Other fun and interactive activities await kids and their families in the Vitarium in Roost, a magical world dedicated to discovering all there is to know about milk and dairy products. And to travel back in time, you can take a trip to the “A Robbesscheier” Tourist Centre and find out “for real” what life was like in the old days.
In Luxembourg, there are adventures waiting everywhere!
