Daljirka Dahsoon – the Monument for All Somalia Stragglers
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Daljirka Dahsoon, is a monument built in honor of the Somali men and women who died in defense of the Somali Republic. It is important landmark of Mogadishu, the capital city of Somalia.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, better known as Daljirka Dahsoon is a place of a great importance both for the city of Mogadishu and Somalia as a country. Somali leaders decided to build a monument for all strugglers in this country that suffered a lot through history and decided to call it called Daljirka Dahsoon.
It the brilliant monument and a unique spot in the capital city that gathers people from across the country to come together and celebrate when there is a national day.
The monument was has been recently renovated after 22 years of battle. It is located right across the Old Somali parliament building.
Lush green oasis was plant around the monument and it makes a nice surroundings for siting and enjoying the view of a monument and a city. There is a beautifully crafted stone sitting area and marble flooring that is usually well-kept.
The monument has a very nice appearance and it is located in the heart of the city. Daljirka Dahsoon is surrounded by famous buildings in the capital such as the building of ex-Parliament, Central Bank of Somalia, National Theater, Ministry of Security, as well as numerous hotels, restaurants, and shops.

Mogadishu fish market: a story of progress
Mogadishu Fish market is one of the main markets for fish suppliers and consumers, different types of fish hung stretch into the distance as far as the eye could see. Namely tuna, blue marlin dolphin fish and sardines.
Normally, fishy smell waft down the entire fish marketplace. More interestedly fish sellers are seen wearing labor coat with blood everywhere of it and holding meat in one hand and big knife in the other. A crowd of about 400 comes to buy the fresh fish from Indian Ocean each day.
The busiest hours are at 8:00-11:00 o’clock in the morning. Sometimes one cannot hear anything because of the noise coming from the buyers and sellers. The visitors are allowed to take picture of local fish sellers on their duties. As visit Mogadishu team try to manage the situation in market to protect the visitor’s security and safety. When people in market see white man/ lady, they demand to picture with him/her from us. If there is no pushing and pulling crowd we agree but usually the choice depend on tourist. What concerned us at this point is security and safety issue.
We are humble to accept their demand as long as not exiting risk. Evidently Mogadishu local fish market is the one of the best places tourist attractions to visit as Fishing is extremely important to this country. It is believed that Somalia’s economy depends on three sectors called Agriculture, fishing & livestock.

Afgooye Orange Farms is located 30 kilometers or 18 miles north-west of Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. This beautiful green lush oasis lies on a strategic crossroads. Demographic & History of Afgooye
Afgooye district is occupied by numerous Somali clans, as well as some ethnic minority groups. During the middle Ages, Afgooye as well as the most of its surrounding area in southern Somalia was governed by the Ajuran Empire. In the 1800s the city came under the administration of the Geledi Sultanate.

The city was liberated on May 25, 2012, when the Somali Government Forces re-captured Afgooye from Al-Shabaab that had established a base in the area previously. The liberation of Afgooye is considered a significant victory, as it gave the militants direct access to the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu.
