Family Fun in Macau

Macao Giant Panda Pavilion and Pavilion of Rare Animals
Nestled against a hill side in Seac Pai Van Park in Coloane in a fan-shaped layout of about 3,000m2, Macao Giant Panda Pavilion is designed to take advantage of combining the terrain’s natural undulations with the architectural characteristics.
The pavilion comprises two 330m2 indoor activity quarters and a 600m2 outdoor yard for the inhabitation of the giant panda and a 900m2 indoor exhibit area. Two viewing paths of different elevations align along the front edge of the fan-layout indoor activity area, accessible to two streams of visitors. Internal facilities include a logistics centre with panda dens, bamboo-washing and storage quarters, feed preparation room, feed warehouse, control centre and veterinarian clinic, etc.
Pavilion of Rare Animals is situated inside Seac Pai Van Park in Coloane and serves as a conservation site for rare animals. The exhibition area consists of 3 indoor and 2 outdoor activity areas to provide ample activity space for the red pandas. Many types of plants are planted in the activity areas to create an environment similar to the red pandas’ wild habitat. The temperature inside the pavilion is regulated to remain within 25°C to provide an ambient temperature that is most comfortable for the red pandas. Climbing facilities such as perches are also installed inside the activity areas for the red pandas to practise their climbing skills.
The Macao Giant Panda Information Centre and Macao Giant Panda Gift Shop are situated inside the park too. The Macao Giant Panda Information Centre is a two-story building featuring multifunctional video rooms, exhibition areas, reading corners and network interactive areas. Intended as a platform for promoting public understanding of giant panda, it also hosts, among other activities, exhibitions and interest classes on a regular basis, in addition to providing information about giant panda. Located at the main entrance to the Seac Pai Van Park, the Macao Giant Panda Gift Shop is dedicated to selling gifts and souvenirs related to giant panda. It offers a large collection of giant panda gifts for visiting residents and tourists to choose from, including soft toys, bags, clothes, stationery and household items, etc. Admission fee is needed for the Macao Giant Panda Pavilion and Pavilion of Rare Animals.
Planet J Theme Park
Planet J Theme Park is a live-action role-playing (LARP) theme park, covering approximately 9,300 square metres. It houses eight gaming zones with more than 200 games, including AR & VR games. Planet J is suitable for all age groups. Either individually or in groups, participants are challenged to interact or battle either with other Planet J visitors or the theme park’s resident characters, in order to advance in the games. Visitors need to maximise dexterity, intelligence, logical thinking and body coordination to overcome the various challenges and quests presented to them.
Qube
Situated inside the Venetian Hotel, this 836 square-metre children’s playground features a 6-metre-high multi-climbing facility with a free fall slide, rainbow slides, a V-Net bridge, over and under barriers, zig-zag net climbers and more.
Teenagers can get on the computers to access the internet, play video games or air hockey. And for those celebrating a birthday, the holidays or any other special occasion, kids of all ages can throw their own parties in the themed party rooms at Qube.
Batman Dark Flight
In partnership with Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment, ‘Batman Dark Flight’ is the world’s first flight simulation ride themed around DC Comics Super Hero “Batman” with the intellectual property franchise. Immersed in the flying theater, adventure-seekers can virtually soar over Gotham City with Batman through the action-packed storyline. The 4D motion ride promises a thrilling experience.
Mast Climb, Bungy Jump, SkyJump & Skywalk X
Conquer Macao’s highest summit, at 338 metres, and stand atop a man-made tower by climbing 100 metres up the mast’s vertical ladder.
Or freefall from the World’s Highest Bungy Jump at speeds of up to 200km/h for the ultimate rush! Plunging from a platform 233m high, challengers will experience freefall for an adrenalin-pumping 4-5 seconds…
SkyJump utilizes the technology of ‘Fan Descenders’ to enable daredevils to fly through the air at 75km/h, without rebounding or inverting, before decelerating to a comfortable landing speed upon reaching the ground.
Skywalk X is a thrilling walk around the main outer rim of the tower, 233 metres above ground. Safety is guaranteed by a world-first overhead rail system… but there’s no hand rail!
Macao Science Center
Macao Science Center was designed by world renowned architect Mr. I.M. Pei and Pei Partnership Architects. With a gross floor area of 20,000 square metres, Macao Science Center consists of the Exhibition Center, the Planetarium and the Convention Center.
Exhibition Center
The permanent galleries cover topics in Science for children, Technology, Environment and Life Style. The exhibitions seek to provide knowledge-oriented, scientific and interesting interactive exhibits, and allow visitors to explore science exhibitions to provide more diversified features to the visitors.
Planetarium
The first Planetarium in the world equipped with 3D and ultra-high definition projection system of 8,000 x 8,000 pixels, and is capable of playing interactive live shows and dome movies in 3D. Its powerful real-time astronomical database can take audiences onto a journey travelling freely in space and time.
Convention Center
The Convention Center includes a multi-functional Convention Hall and 4 Meeting Rooms. It is equipped with professional audio-visual facilities, simultaneous interpretation systems, and video conferencing equipment.
Golden Reel
Suspended between the twin hotel towers of Studio City at a height of 130 meters, the Golden Reel is the world’s first and Asia’s highest figure-8 Ferris wheel. It features 17 “Steampunk”-themed cabins, each accommodating up to 10 passengers on a memorable ride around the uniquely-shaped figure-8 track. Once aboard, you can admire the breathtaking views of the city in different angles.
Cable Car
The Guia Hill dominates the Macao peninsula and its top offers the best landscape views in town, namely the Pearl River and the surrounding islands. If you go in through the Flora Garden Gate (Avenida Sidónio Pais), you will find a Cable car, which will help to go up, besides offering you a panoramic view over the hill.
Bowling and Ice Skating

teamLab SuperNature Macao
TeamLab SuperNature Macao is a groundbreaking permanent interactive experience opening in June 2020. Spanning across a 5,000 square meter labyrinthine space with eight metre-high ceilings throughout, teamLab transforms the space into a complex three-dimensional world across varying elevations. Blurring boundaries between the human body and art, the exhibit features an exciting series of fully immersive and compelling artworks.
Communications Museum
The Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau’s Communications Museum is a place with cultural, scientific and technological characteristics. With the belief of “Dare to experiment, Dare to discover, the Museum encourages visitors to enjoy “Fun Learning at Communications Museum”
Visitors can request for information at the Reception & Shop about exhibitions, activities and facilities lease, shop for their favorite Macao stamps and request for postal and money transfer services. Postal/Philately Gallery displays exhibits related to the history of Macao Post ranging from precious artifacts to valuable collection of stamps and postal objects.
Telecommunications Gallery shows the most interactive and experimental exhibits of the Museum. Visitors will understand the development of the means and techniques of communications as well as front-end technologies.
Outdoor exhibits are installed in the terrace next to the D. Maria II Garden. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Macao and the Fortress D. Maria II built in 1852 (Qing Dynasty, Xianfeng 2nd Year – the only ancient fortress that uses a suspension bridge as the entrance.
Hác-Sá Reservoir Country Park
Hác-Sá Reservoir Country Park is located in the southeast of Coloane Island. Here you can enjoy BBQ facilities, walking trails and canoeing. Splash about in a hired boat, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Jacaranda Kiosk and mountain forest area. Near the reservoir dam you can also find a plant maze, picnic and camping area, family trail and fitness trail.
Anim’Arte NAM VAN
Jointly managed by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Sports Bureau, the Macao Government Tourism Office and Institute for Tourism Studies, “Anim’Arte NAM VAN” transforms Nam Van Lakeside Plaza into a waterfront leisure hub with a distinct character combining creativity, leisure and dining. The project aims to provide residents and tourists with diverse tourism experience, thereby enhancing Macao’s cultural tourism products offerings.
