Nature of South Sudan
For nature lovers, South Sudan is the place to head to. The country boasts of four national parks and fourteen game reserves that are home to some of the most spectacular and very important wildlife in Africa.
The four national parks include Bandinglio, Boma, Southern and Nimule national parks. Of these four, Bandinglio National Park is the most important. This is because it is where the second-largest animal migration in the world occurs. The first is the Serengeti (Tanzania)-Mara (Kenya) wildlife migration.
Located in Equatorial and Eastern Regions of South Sudan, Bandinglio National Park was established in 1992. It cuts across the While Nile and covers an area of over 10,000 square kilometres. It is home to different animals including giraffes, lions, buffalos, cheetahs, leopards, gazelles, tigers and elephants among many others.
Although very few tourist facilities exist in South Sudan, visitors to Juba and other cities and towns in the country never miss accommodation. There are several affordable hotels already operating with many others still being developed. The country’s Juba International is currently one of the busiest airports in Africa. The airport receives international flight from Cairo, Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Entebbe, Khartoum and Dubai. The city of juba is also connected by road from Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya.
