Rural Tourism in Paraguay
Rural estates are one of the options that tourism in the interior offers in Paraguay, and they give visitors a chance to enjoy the charm of the countryside experience.
Estates and farms with privileged natural landscapes also offer everyday activities like long horseback rides, typical cuisine and rodeos, which combine rustic environments with the cosiness and comfort necessary to satisfy the most discerning visitors.
The gastronomic journey doesn’t end with traditional dishes: fruits and vegetables are also essential, meat, poultry and fish are on the daily menu and all breakfasts, lunches, afternoon snacks and dinners are enriched with ingredients of international cuisine.
The rural tourism industry boasts of numerous livestock and agricultural establishments, nucleated since 1997 by the Paraguayan Rural Tourism Association (Asociación Paraguaya de Turismo Rural or APATUR) in order to cater to the most demanding visitors. People and businesses, not necessarily from the livestock business, are associated with APATUR. Through their incursion into tourism they have achieved diversification for farms and estates and created new jobs.
