KALANGGAMAN ISLAND
The island got its name from the root word “langgam”, which means bird in Bisaya. Viewed from above, the two ends of the island seem to flap like bird’s wings with the changing tides. With nothing but sun, sand, and surf, the 795-meter sand bar in Palompon, Leyte is a picture perfect destination with nothing to distract from its beauty.
PALAUI ISLAND: UNTOUCHED PARADISE
Palaui Island in Santa Ana, Cagayan is a protected landscape and seascape managed by the DENR.
Palaui Island was declared as a National Marine Reserve boasting of 21 commercial species of fish with about 50 hectares (120 acres) of undisturbed corals. The island is the tenth entry in CNN’s World’s 100 Best Beaches list which was published on May 13, 2013 which remarked the island’s “raw beauty”. Its northernmost point is the historic Cape Engaño Lighthouse.
LEBAK COAST TO TOAST
The Municipality of Lebak in Sultan Kudarat is another promising destination in SOCCSKSARGEN. The pristine beaches, waterfalls, and the Lebak Katunggan Coastal Eco Park are among the main attractions. The town is also well-known for its seafood products including crabs and prawns. SUMILON ISLAND
Located at the southern tip of Cebu, Sumilon Island is a 24-hecatre island that boasts of lush vegetation and crystal clear waters. The place is ideal for snorkeling and diving because its waters are rich breeding areas for many marine species.
MALAPASCUA ISLAND
It was on Christmas day when the Spaniards reached the island. According to the town folks, it was supposed to be a special day for celebration but unfortunately a storm hit the island and so came the name “MALAPASCUA”, MALAS SA PASKO, which means “Unfortunate Christmas” in English. Malapascua is sometimes referred to as “LOGON”, the main community in the south. “Logon” got its name when the Japanese and American fought over the island during the WWII. The island is 3 kms. Long and 1 km. wide, with the population of about 3,000. It has white sand beaches, and crystal clear water. The west coast is ideal for swimming and snorkeling but one should be careful because of unpredictable weather. A walk or tour on the island can be done within half a day.
CAMOTES ISLAND
Located north of Cebu, across Danao City—the island is located at the northeast of Cebu Province and is composed of 4 towns, namely: Poro (composed of 17 barangays), San Francisco (composed of 15 barangay), Tudela (composed of 8 barangays), and Pilar (composed of 5 barangays). To across the island, one has to go to Danao City, an hour away from Cebu City or take a fast ferry. There are two boats which travel to and from the island and Danao City everyday.
BANTAYAN ISLAND
Serene and tranquil, and boasting of fine white sand beaches, this island is a favorite holiday hangout, especially during the Lenten season. The historically rich Holy Week celebration of Bantayan Island is among the most elaborate in the country—using life size statues during the Holy Thursday and Good Friday processions. Bantayanons also enjoy a rare Holy Week privilege of Catholic Church exemption from fasting from a 200 year old Papal Bull edict.
ANDA
Anda offers an alternative to the crowded beaches of Panglao Island. Go barefoot across kilometers of fine white sand beaches where billions of finely ground corals caressed by the nursing tides and washed into the lazy slopes of the Anda shore-line. Or, take a nourishing dip by frolicking in the aquamarine sea and let the gently lapping waves calm your nerves. Anda is more than its white beaches. Its also the site for an important cultural treasure – Lamanoc Island.
CAMALIG KULINARYA
The town of Camalig, Albay’s heritage town has been dubbed as “The Birthplace of Pinangat”, a savory and distinctly Bicolano dish composed coconut milk, meat or fish, chili, and taro leaves. Not to be sidelined are the Pili delicacies that will surely stimulate one’s tastebuds.
CALAGUAS ISLANDS
A gem of islands in the Pacific Ocean, Calaguas boasts of powdery white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and unspoiled natural resources. Located in Tinaga Island, the Mahabang Buhangin is more popular among backpackers and sunseekers and has been described as a “mini Boracay sans the commercialization”.

One of the man-made natural wonders of Burgos frequented by 286,998 tourist in 2019, it is one of the most visited tourist destination in Ilocos.

Located 277 kilometers north of Manila, San Juan is one of the growing economies in La Union and is considered as the surfing capital of Northern Philippines.

MABUA PEBBLE BEACH
Try this unique pebble beach located at the west portion of Surigao City. Rest at the parallel lines of native cottages set in the natural backdrop of coconut trees and enjoy swimming, windsufring, and jetskiing activities while waiting for the orange sky during the sunset.
WHITE ISLAND
Is an uninhabited white sandbar with the picturesque Mt. Hibok-Hibok and Old Vulcan as its back drop. The picturesque island is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, and viewing the sunrise and sunset over Camiguin.
SALAGDOONG BEACH
Salagdoong Beach is an idyllic hideaway tucked in a cove just 6 kilometers northeast of Maria. Fine white sand covers the shoreline and a nearby islet provides a good vantage point of the beachfront area.
VALUGAN BAY
Valugan Bay in Basco has a kilometer-long stretch of beach with multi-colored rocks and is only three kilometers from Basco proper. It has a good view of the calming sea while the stones and rocks offer visitors to spend the hours away as they play.
SABTANG ISLAND A SIGHT TO BEHOLD
Sabtang Island is a 30-minute rocky ride from Ivana Seaport on a round-bottomed falowa, 14 kilometers southwest of Batan Island. It has intermittent sand beaches and is dominated with steep mountains and deep canyons with small level areas sporadically found along the coastline. It is one of the most beautiful islands in Batanes. Visit Chavayan and witness the rolling of the seven waves: Sumnanga or the Little Hongkong; Nakanmuan, the fishing village; watch the “Kuyab” or Migratory Birds from China that flock by the hundreds during the month of October.
BALUT ISLAND
Balut Island is located in one of the municipalities of Sultan Kudarat Province—the Kalamansig. It was named Balut because of its egg-shaped form. Upon getting closer to Balut Island, the corals and beauty of the shallow waters beneath became more visible as the rays sun shone in the crystal-like waters. The white sand bar of the village at the tip of Barangay Paril, Kalamansig welcomes every excited tourist.
TUKA MARINE PARK
Tucked into the curves of the beautiful coastline of Kiamba, Sarangani is Tuka Marine Park—one of the finest and serene places in province. The place has pristine blue water, rich coral reefs, and white sand beach. To ensure the protection as well as the pleasure of the tourists, the local government formulated activities in the area like coral planting, fish feeding, and such.
SARANGANI BAY PROTECTED SEA SCAPE
Sarangani Bay has a rich coastal and marine resource which features its famous tuna fish. Under the Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape bill, the site should be protected while ensuring the conservation of its economic, biological, socio-cultural, educational, and scientific values for the enjoyment of the Sarangani people. In March 2019, marine researchers from Sarangani Environmental Conservation and Protection Center (ECPC) spotted three to five possible new migrants of whalesharks (locally known as butanding) in Sarangani Bay.
GUMASA WHITE SAND BEACHES
Several white sand beaches at par with the pristine waters and dusk white sands of Boracay can be experienced in Glan, Sarangani. Glan also has black sand beach. The beach is dubbed “Glass Sand” because of the powdery and glittery black sand. The glitters are due to the silica rich content of sand.

SURFING IN EASTERN SAMAR
Eastern Samar is fast becoming the surfing capital of the entire Visayas Region. Its eastern seaboard from the northeastern municipalities to the southernmost tip the province, particularly Calicoan Island in Guiuan, are dotted with surf camps of various sizes—a popular surfing destination for beginners and hardcore buffs. Other known surf destinations are Borongan City, Taft, and Hernani.
DALUTAN ISLAND
This thin strip of pristine white sand beach in Almeria is shaded by overhanging trees. Sheltered from the open sea, it is great for snorkeling and diving, with a spectacular view of nearby islands.
AGTA BEACH
Is located 328 meters from the junction of the national road and a 25-minute drive from Naval. This 800-meter long, short-strip of fine sand with orange hues beach extends from both sides of a cove and has a lovely view of Dalutan and Capiñahan Islands. It is also the jump-off point to the white sand beach of Dalutan Island.
PUNTA BALLO
Punta Ballo is a kilometer stretch of white sand beach. It hosts several resorts with diving schools. It is the nearest jump-off point towards the marine protected area ideal for snorkeling and diving due to rich marine life.

CABUGAO GAMAY OR MARUJA’S FLORAS ISLAND PARADISE
In Barangay Gabi is Gigantes Sur’s most popular and pristine island beaches. If you want a quieter, more relaxing experience, this picturesque island is an ideal location. It has a beautiful beach great for swimming with a quiet strip of white sand. Also known as the “Selfie Island” among tourists with its rock formation where visitors can climb all the way to the top, the best spot for viewing the whole islet and a selfie shot. For visitors who would want to stay overnight, they have air-conditioned and fan rooms and tents. They serve a variety of chicken, pork, fish, and shell foods either grilled or as soup base.
ALUBIHOD BEACHES
Sitio Alubihod is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the province. It is also a fishing ground for the community and is one of the most visited areas by tourist beachgoers due to its fine white sand and clear blue waters. It is accessible by boat and land transportation.
BAYBAY BEACH
Go extreme at Baybay Beach in Roxas City as it is perfect for water sports like skim boarding and water skiing or go relax by simply basking in the sun, swimming in the cool water, and taking a walk along the shore feeling the waves lap at your feet.
BASIAO BEACH, BASIAO, IVISAN
The beach is 10 kilometers or 30 minutes away by jeepney, car, or tricycle over rough roads from the town proper. These two barangays have the only white sand beach coves in the whole Capiz. In Basiao are the following coves: Marangcalan, Dinogmaan, Patyo, and Basiao.
MALALISON ISLAND, CULASI
One of Culasi’s three major islands with white sand beaches that are in pristine condition and an ideal spot for sailing, snorkeling, fishing, and scuba diving.
JAWILI FALLS AND BEACH
Enjoy the cascading cool waters of Jawili Falls with seven varied shaped rock basins wide and clear enough for swimming. The nearby beach has its own local character where fishing boats are docked on the shores and local people trawl casually as the beach is untapped by mass tourism.
VETERAN SURFERS’ DREAM
Get stoked at this surfing paradise of Cemento Beach in Aurora frequented by professional surfers from Europe, Australia, and Japan during surfing season. The area is also suitable for snorkeling and wall diving in the calm season and is also a popular haven for lobsters and other marine species.
SWIMMING
Swimming and leisurely beachcombing are possible in many of Quezon’s shorelines. Try the bay waters of Pagbilao, the beaches of Atimonan, or the fringes of Lamon Bay and Tayabas Bay. There are also fishing grounds where the fresh catch may be broiled for a delectable lunch.
