Water sports in Anguilla
Anguillian boat racing – the island’s national sport. While it’s more spectator than hands-on, for thrilling sportsmanship it should be a “don’t miss” item on your itinerary.
If swimming in cobalt pools or turquoise seas whets your appetite for more, kiteboarding, windsurfing, waterskiing, and sailfish or catamaran sailing are easily arranged—as is tubing, or banana, tiger and speed boat rides. Deep-sea fishing charters, operated by experienced Anguillians, can guide you—over calm waters teeming with Wahoo, marlin, swordfish, and yellow and black fin tuna—to some of the Caribbean’s finest spots.
Day cruising and sailing to many of Anguilla’s offshore cays or secluded beaches can be a great way to experience the water and pristine places— with picnics onboard or ashore, sunset cocktail cruises, secluded snorkeling trips and excursions to outer Cays also available.
