Experience the magic of the Gamboa rainforest, ascending some 280 feet from the shadowy forest floor through the dense undergrowth and up to the sun-drenched canopy with its thousand shades of green that are only interrupted by the vibrant colors of flowering trees.
Your gondola will allow you a bird’s-eye view of the incredible surroundings that are home to colorful birds and butterflies which are abundant here, and you might also encounter sloth or white-faced capuchin monkeys and hear the howler monkeys cry in the distance.
Your tram ride is approximately 1-hour to the Gamboa Observation Tower where you can enjoy phenomenal aerial views of the Chagres River, Gatun Lake, and the Panama Canal.
A naturalist guide travels with each gondola of four or five passengers, pointing out various plants and wildlife. When you make it up the fifteen stories to the top of the observation tower, you’ll be rewarded with a view of Soberania National Park and the Panama Canal.
Afterwards, you will make your way to Miraflores Visitor Centre, a center whose exhibitions focus on the famous Panama Canal. Four exhibition halls cover just about every aspect of the Panama Canal including its construction and its operation. During your visit, you can watch vessels cruise the waters and witness the lock gates open and close. There is also a 3D movie played on-site that highlights notable events through the Panama Canal’s history.
