Day 02 Taipei
After breakfast Taipei City tour.
Stops: CKS Memorial hall, Lungshan Temple, Di Hua Street Ximenting Shopping area, National Palace Museum, Shiling Night Market.
CKS Memorial Hall – This memorial hall is home to several classical Chinese buildings, including the stately memorial itself as well as the National Concert Hall and National Theater. Another highlight is the hourly honor guard display.
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is located in the heart of Taipei City. The area is 250,000 square meters and it is the attraction most visited by foreign tourists. Outside the gate of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, there are poles carrying the sign of true rightness. The architecture of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is inspired by Tientam in Beijing. The four sides of the structure are similar to those of the pyramids in Egypt. The material is white marble. The roofs are decorated with deep-blue glass as part of the reflection of blue sky and bright sun. It adds a touch of grandeur. The garden is planted with red flowers. As a whole, the colors of blue, white and red express the National Flag and the spirit of freedom, equality and brotherhood.
Lungshan Temple- Longshan Temple is a famous old temple in Taiwan. It is for worshiping Guanshiyin Budda and other divine spirits. Longshan Temple is facing the South. Its architecture is a three-section design in shape. There are the front hall, the rear hall and the right/left dragons protecting the middle hall. The layout is square and serene. The temple was built in Qianlong 5th year in Qing Dynasty.
Ximenting Shopping Area – The name of Ximending came from the period of Japanese colonization. At that time most local residents live within Taipei City. Ximending is the center for recreation. In 1896, the first theater “Tokyo Stand” was set up. In 1922, the place was officially called Ximending.
Shiling Night Market – Shilin Night Market is the one of the largest night markets in Taipei. The market is centered on Yangming Theater and Cicheng Temple. The night market is formed by many prosperous shops on Wenlin Road, Dadong Road and Danan Road, etc. Among them, Shilin Market was built as early as in 1899 and the market is famous for various snacks and eatery. Many visitors have come to Shilin Night Market to enjoy the delicious foods, such as large pancake enfolding small pancake, hot pot on stone or Shilin sausage. Shilin Night Market has become a renowned place for great foods.

Day 03 Taipei – Sun Moon Lake – Taichung (By Road) (331 kms / 5 hrs appx)
Stops: Sun Moon Lake, Wen Wu Temple, Holy Monk Shrine, Sun Moon Lake by Boat, Taichung Fong Jia Night Market.
Sun Moon Lake- The Sun Moon Lake, located in the middle of Taiwan, with an elevation of 748 meters above sea level, is the only natural big lake in Taiwan. The southern part of Lalu Island is shaped like a new moon, and the northern part is shaped like a sun; hence the name Sun Moon Lake. Scenic resources
FengJIa Night Market- The Fengjia Night Market is one of Taichung’s famous commercial business districts, covering approximately one kilometer in diameter around Feng Chia University and includes the Fengjia-Wenhua Night Market, Fengjia Rd., and Fuxing Rd. In this CBD, you can find delicious snack foods, quality clothes at reasonable prices to express your unique personality, and the trendiest mobile phones at excellent bargain prices. After the Department of Transportation made great efforts to tackle the parking problems, it has become much easier to park your car or motorcycle at the Fengjia Night Market. Day 04 Taichung – Kaohsiung (By Road) (199 kms /2 hrs 30 mins appx)
Stops: Foguangshan Buddha Memorial Center, Kaohsiung Love River, Dream Mall
Fo Gunag Mountain(Fo Gunag Shan) Monastery- At the north-east of Dashu Township in Kaohsiung county on the left bank of the Gaoping (Kaoping) river, a famous tourist destination is located. Here you will find the Buddhist center of South Taiwan, established my Master Hsing Yun and his disciples. The architecture of the temples is very characteristic, and at the southeastern side of Fo Gunag Mountain (Gunag Shan) Monastery the most prominent landmark of the region is found: a huge golden statue of Buddha Amitaabha which measures some 120 meters.
Leo Ho Night Market – You will not be considered to visit Kaohsiung if you miss out Liuhe Night Market. As early as in 1950, more and more stalls came to stationed in Dagangpu of Xinxing District in Kaohsiung, finally forming the well-known “Dagangpu Night Market”. The night market is developed into large-scale, known as Liuhe Night Market.
Dream Mall- Nature, life and maritime culture converge at Dream Mall, Kaohsiung City’s first international class shopping and leisure center. The new mall is situated in Kaohsiung Multifunctional Commerce and Trade Park adjacent to Chenggong Rd. and Zhonghua Rd. The east-west running Time Avenue lies to the north and Kaohsiung International Airport, Kaohsiung Harbor, Sun Yat-sen Expressway and MRT stations are located nearby, making the mall easy to reach. The front Blue Whale Hall rises seven floors, while the main mall building has nine aboveground floors plus two underground levels providing indoor parking for up to 3,561 cars and 2,016 scooters. An additional 605 cars, 636 scooters, and 21 buses can fit into the outside lot.

Day 05 Kaohsiung -Tainan – Taipei (By Road) ( 358 kms / 5 hrs appx.)
Stops: Former British Consular Residence at Dagou , Tainan City tour (Chihkan Tower, Koxgina Shrine, Anping Castle, Anping Tree House),
Former British Consulate- The consulate was built in 1865 with more than a hundred years of history. It is now the most antique western building preserved in Taiwan, which is listed as the second-class historic spot. It was the western building designed by a British engineer and built by Chinese craftsmen, and it is the most meaningful ancient building of Chinese modern history with graceful and elegant proportion. Semicircle arches are rhythmically arranged in order with considerably rhyming.
Chihkan Tower- Tainan ChikanlouChihkanlouis built by the Dutch in 1652. It was originally called Provintia. In Dutch it means eternity. The Chinese called the building “ChikanlouChihkanlou”, “Fanzailou” or “Honmaolou”. Although ChikanlouChihkanlouhas gone through Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and the Japanese Colonization Period, it basically still maintains its original look.
Koxinga Shrine – The Guoxingye’s Shrine (Yanping Junwang Temple), located by Kaishan Road surrounded by trees, is the only Fujianese style shrine in Taiwan. This is the shrine built in memory of the work and achievement of Cheng Cheng Kung, the pioneer of Taiwan. Cheng Cheng Kung was originally called Cheng Sun, a native in County Fujian. His father, Cheng Chi Lung, was a wanderer in his early days. He has been a merchant as well as a pirate. His mother was a Japanese lady called Tagawa. Cheng was born with great intelligence. Not only was he diligent in his studies, he also has a huge ambitious to achieve something big, i.e. to become someone who are good in both academic work and in the military field. By the time he was 21 years old, Wu San Kwei led the Qing army into China and the Ming dynasty thus came to an end.
Anping Treehouse – It was the original warehouse for British trading company Tait & Co. The aerial rools and branches of trees wrapped around the building, combind with soil, red brick and partial concrete wall creates an unusual sight.
