Day 1: Dhaka
Start the tour in the heart of Bangladesh and arrive in the lively capital of Dhaka. In the afternoon, take a stroll through the National Parliament House designed by famous architect, Louis Kahn. Next, visit the Bangladesh National Museum and learn about the country’s rich history and culture. In the evening, relax at your accommodating hotel. We recommend checking in at the elegant Westin Dhaka.
Day 2: Dhaka
After indulging in a buffet breakfast, we embark on a tour of the fascinating city. Start in Old Dhaka, and go back in time as you walk through ancient streets carpeted with historic buildings. Make our way to the stunning Pink Palace, also known as the Ahsan Manzil and continue to the Tara Masjid, a star shaped mosque decorated with motifs of blue stars. Finish the day with an exciting rickshaw ride around the bustling metropolis.
Day 3: Paharpur – Bogra
Today will be spent in Paharpur, a town full of Buddhist ruins some 3 hours’ drive from Dhaka. Here you’ll visit the Somapura Mahavihara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest Buddhist monasteries in the world. Explore the archaic monuments and be dazzled by its massive size. In the late afternoon, arrive at the lovely Naz Garden Hotel in nearby Bogra and watch a traditional folk dance performance in the evening.
Day 4: Dinajpur – Bogra
In the morning, head 2.5 hours away to Dinajpur, a city home to the breathtaking Kantaji’s Temple. This sanctuary is considered to be the most decorative and intricate in the country. Admire the beautiful temple surface and notice the embellishment of elaborate terracotta plaques. Next, tour the traditional village of Satrangee in Rangpur and head back to Bogra in the late afternoon.
Day 5: Khulna
Begin the day with a scenic 6-hour drive to Khulna. Stop along the way to visit the ancient tomb of Mystic poet, Lalon Shah. Shah is a famous religious icon in the country and his songs have influenced many poets and church figures. At his mausoleum, listen to some of his famous music and learn about his inspiring philosophies. After, head to Khulna where a fresh lobster dinner will be waiting for you.
Day 6: Mongla & Sunderbans
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic 1-hour drive to Mongla. Along the way we will visit the Sixty Dome Mosque, the largest brick made mosque in Bangladesh and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to Khan Jahan Ali’s pond where you’ll get up close and personal with monstrous crocodiles. Touch its scaly exterior if you’re brave enough! Next, board a boat in Mongla and enter the Sundarbans, the biggest block of mangrove forest on the globe. Pass by the Sundarbans National Park, which is home to majestic Bengal tigers. Finally, take a stroll through a nearby village and experience traditional life by interacting with locals.
Day 7: Sunderbans – Depart Dhaka
End the epic tour with a boat ride through the small creeks of the Sundarbans and be captivated by the natural beauty and diverse wildlife that surrounds you. Afterwards, depart to Mongla and transfer to a ferry to cross the mighty Padma River. Arrive in Dhaka 6 hours later and head to the airport where we say farewell.
