Day 2 Auckland
Take a morning tour of the Marrakesh city, otherwise known as the “Ochre City”. Home to over one million, Marrakesh was one of the major imperial cities of historical Morocco. The city divides into two areas; the Medina, or the historical city, and the Ville Nouvelle, the European-inspired modern city. Marvel at the city’s pink mud-brick architecture.
Visit the Saadien Tombs, the resting place of many members of the Saadi Dynasty, who claimed to descend from Muhammad’s bloodline. Journey to the magnificent site known as the Bahia Palace, the 19th century home of Si Moussa, whose name literally means “brilliance”. The balance of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Auckland.
Day 03 Auckland – Waitomo Caves – Rotorua (By Road) (350 km/4 hrs 30 min)
Proceed to self drive passengers will collect their rental car from Auckland city hertz depot and self drive whereas passengers in coach will be collected from your hotel to travel south from Auckland, to the famous Waitomo Caves.
On arrival enjoy a comprehensive cave tour, where you will have the opportunity to view thousands of luminescent lights radiating from the unique Waitomo glowworms, as expert guides provide informative commentary on the Caves historical and geological significance. Enjoy the limestone shafts, stunning Cathedral cavern and then take a unique boat ride through the glowworm grotto. We continue our tour this afternoon by driving to Rotorua, including passing through the beautiful Fitzgerald Glade where the roadside trees arch overhead to form a tunnel of natural greenery.

Day 4 Rotorua
Proceed to self drive passengers will drive to Shire’s Rest (Matamata) while coach passengers will be collected from their accommodation and will travel across the Kaimai Ranges to the picturesque 1,250 acre farm near Matamata where scenes from the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies were filmed. Experience the real Middle-earth with a visit to the Hobbiton Movie Set, the bucolic setting for The Shire that featured in the Peter Jackson directed films, The Lord of the Rings. Your guide will escort you through the ten acre site recounting fascinating details of how the Hobbiton set was created.
The Hobbit holes, Green Dragon Inn, Mill and other structures created for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films can be viewed and you will see how this beautiful piece of Waikato farmland was transformed into The Shire from Middle-earth. In the evening on returning back to hotel you will be collected by coach for an evening at Mitai which will give your clients an authentic introduction to Maori culture leaving you amazed and in awe. Be enthralled by the natural bush setting, see warriors in traditional dress paddle an ancient warrior canoe (waka) down the Wai-o-whiro stream, Marvel at the crystal clear water full of eels and trout, flowing directly from the earth at the sacred Fairy Spring. See your traditionally cooked hangi meal being lifted from the ground. During our cultural performance, you’ll learn about our past, carvings and ta moko (tattoo art). Be captivated by the displays of weaponry and combat, coupled with the grace and beauty of the poi dance
Overnight in Rotorua.
Day 5 Depart Rotorua
Transfer to onward destination.
