Day 1 Sofia (By Flight)
Arrivals in Sofia meet assist and accommodation in a hotel in the city center.
Visit to the “Alexander Nevski” Cathedral. This is a memorial church, the most splendid of many notable buildings from around the turn of 20th century. It is a golden-domed five-aisle cathedral that can accommodate 5 000 people. More than 30 years craftsmen and artists from six countries have worked on the huge chandeliers, candelabra, the mural paintings and the icons, as well as on the interior made out of marble, onyx, alabaster, gold, copper and bronze.
Downstairs is the crypt with the largest collection of icons and religious artifacts on the Balkan Peninsula. Overnight in Sofia.
Day 2 Sofia
Sightseeing in Sofia – a walk in the city center where is the finely preserved 4-century rotunda of St. George, the remains of the Roman fortress wall, the church of St. Petka Samarjiiska, St. Nedelja Church and St. Sofia Church – 4th to 6th century church that gave the name of the city. In the city center are also to be found the Presidency, the National Assembly building, the building of the Council of Ministers, etc. Seeing the Mosque, the National Library and the University of Sofia.
Visit to the National History Museum. It houses a wealth of rare objects from the Paleolithic age to the 14 century AD, some of the world’s oldest known gold artifacts and many objects giving detailed illustration of the centuries of the Turkish Yoke and the National Liberation Movement.
Visit to Boyana Church. The church is dated 12th century and contains frescoes from 1259 which are recognized as among the best-preserved and most interesting examples of Eastern European medieval art. Some of the 90 scenes are painted from life rather than stylized. The frescoes are considered the first manifestation of Renaissance art and the church is included in UNESCO’s list of cultural and historic sites. Overnight in Bahrain.
Day 3 Sofia – Plovdiv (By Road) (147 kms / 1 hrs / 41 mins appx.)
Proceed for the town of Plovdiv .
Visit to the Old Town – one of the most beautiful complexes of late 19 century bourgeois domestic buildings in the Balkans. Many houses are turned into museums. In this architectural reservation are to be found the ancient Roman Theater dating from the 2nd century, the ethnographic museum, the Thracian and Roman fortress walls, fine examples of churches, cultural monuments and a harmonious blend of Thracian, Roman, Slav, medieval and revival remains. A walking tour in the center where is the Djumaja Mosque, the horseshoe shaped Hellenistic stadium, the Roman forum and others.
Gala dinner in a stylish restaurant, with musical program and an orchestra (the restaurant will be reserved only for the group).
Overnight in Plovdiv.
Day 4: Plovdiv
Proceed to Bachkovo Monastery (70 km in both directions). This is the oldest one in Bulgaria and one of the finest of the Bulgarian monasteries. It was founded in late 11 century and represents the intermingling of the Old Georgian, Greek and Bulgarian traditions. It combines antique and modern buildings in a harmonious and inspiring whole.
In the afternoon visit to a wine cellar (30 km in both directions). The wine cellar is a complex combining modern technologies of wine production with an impressive National Revival style architecture. The tourists will walk about the cellar and listen to a lecture about the origin of the grape varieties, myths and legends, and specific technologies of wine production and preservation.

Day 05 Plovdiv – Sofia (By Road) ( 147 km/ 1 hrs 41 min appx.) / Depart Sofia
