Enjoy a hop on – hop off bus tour in the heart of Europe in Brussels on a world-famous red open-top bus. With over 20 stops conveniently located around the city, you can travel to points of interest and the city’s attractions at your leisure. Brussels is home to the European Union with the European Parliament, which operates in 23 languages. Get a glimpse of the infamous Manneken Pis, who might be dressed in an adorable costume as he perches above his fountain. Visit the majestic Cinquantenaire Arch, which commemorates the 50th anniversary of Belgian Independence, or the Grand-Place, the city’s main square, and most popular tourist destination. See the Town Hall and the location of the flower carpet that is assembled in August on years ending in an even number, and the Atomium, built for the 1958 World’s Fair.
The city abounds in architectural monuments, from the Renaissance to modern times and discovering this heritage is full of surprises. Brussels is the capital of Art Nouveau and you will have the opportunity to see magnificent structures throughout the capital city that are recognized as UNESCO world heritage sites. The creative works of Victor Horta, Paul Hankar, as well as many other architects, can be seen on optional tours of these opulent houses.
Please Note: This tour takes place in Brussels. Guests on ships docking in Zeebrugge will need to make their own way to Brussels from Zeebrugge, which is approximately 75 miles away, at their own expense. Your cruise ship may offer a bus transfer. There are some taxis at the pier and train service from the town of Brugge, an approximately 20-minute drive from the cruise pier. Taxi fare to Brugge is approximately 45 EUR for the taxi each way. Please be advised that these rates are approximate, and are not monitored. There are 2 bus routes that follow the same, seasonal schedule. Both buses run every 45 minutes, and it takes approximately 90 minutes to complete each of the routes without getting off. The Atomium Route takes approximately 90 minutes to complete without getting off. The Europe Route takes approximately 60 minutes to complete without getting off. Both routes are narrated in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Dutch, and Russian. First and last tour times vary by the season and day of the week, and will be detailed in your electronic ticket.
