Day 1 Arrive Varna
Arrival in Varna meet assist at the airport later transfer to hotel.
Overnight in Verna.
Day 2 Varna
Sightseeing in Varna – the biggest city on the Black Sea coast – the Historical Museum, the Archeological Museum, the Ethnographic Museum, the Cathedral, the Dolphinarium, etc. Overnight in Varna.
Day 3 Varna
Sightseeing in the region. A visit to the botanical gardens in the town of Balchik. These are the second largest gardens in Europe, once were part of the summer palace of the Romanian queen Maria.
Visiting museums, going to Pobiti Kamani – a very interesting semi-dessert area covered with yellow sands and many stone figures that are still unknown whether they are remnants of a vanished town, or of a giant wall. Some of these rocks are 6-7 meters high; others are similar to pots or flowers. The area is 4 km.
Very close is the cave Tamnata Dupka (The Dark Hole) where traces of prehistoric people are found. Overnight in Varna.
Day 4 Varna – Veliko Tarnovo (By Road) (222 kms / 2 hrs / 36 mins appx.)
Proceed for the town of Veliko Tarnovo. On the way to the town the tourists will see the old Bulgarian capitals Pliska and Preslav, the Rider of Madara – a 23m-high stone monument enlisted in the UNESCO list of historical monuments. A visit to a wine cellar where the popular wine “Pelin” is produced.
A visit to the monastery “St. Pantaleimon” where the Bulgarian king Boris had spent some time. A visit to Ljaskovo nunnery. Overnight in Veliko.
Day 5 Veliko Tarnovo
Sightseeing in Veliko Tarnovo, Arbanasy and the monastery of Kelifarevo.
Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.
Day 6 Veliko Tarnovo – Nessebar (By Road) ( 245 kms / 2 hrs / 55 mins appx.)
Proceed for the town of Nessebar. On the way visiting Drjanovo Monastery, the village of Bojentzi, the ethnographic complex Etara, the Thracian tomb near Kazanlak. Overnight in Nessebar.
Day 07 Nessebar
Visiting the towns of Nessebar and Sozopol. Nessebar is a small town situated on a peninsula. Its population is 7000 people and during the summer each house turns into a small hotel.
The legends tell that once there were 41 churches in Nessebar. Nowadays the tourists may see the following churches: the Old Metropolis, the Basilica on the see coast, “St. Todor”, “St.Parasceva”, etc. The other pearl of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast is Sozopol. The town was established in 609. Its first name was Apolonia.
Day 08 Nessebar – Varna (By Road) / (101 km/ 1 hrs 33 min) / Dep. Varna
Departure transfer to onward destination.
