Burundi is a country with many attractive sites including Rusizi National Park and the snake and Culture Museum. Your tour to Burundi will include visits to Mugara Hot springs, Local oil palm production, Ruvubu National park, and drum sanctuary of Gishora.
Day 01: Arrive Burundi
Arrive early in Bujumbura and check in the hotel; Safari Gate Hotel. Have a city tour at noon to Bunyezi Muslim center, the snake and culture Museum and Belvedere climb which offers a beautiful scenic view of Bujumbura and Lake Tanganyika.Overnight at King’s Conference Hotel.
Day 02: Bajumbura B-D
Drive to Rusizi National Park, home to hippos, antelopes, monkeys, and numerous species of colorful birds. See where River Rusizi empties into Lake Tanganyika. Afterward route your way to Explorers’ Memorial, a massive rock in the suburbs of Bujumbura commemorating meeting between explorers John Speke and Hannington. Visit Albert’s zoo and enjoy a Tuk-Tuk tour on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Dinner and overnight at King’s Conference Hotel.
Day 03: Bujumbura – Gitega – Gishora B-D
After breakfast, drive to the source of Nile and the amazing waterfalls. Continue to Gitega to visit the drum sanctuary of Gishora famous for drum making. The area has two ritual drums that have never been beaten. Ruciteme-the one for whom we clear the forest and Murimirwa- the one for whom we cultivate. Besides, they are other ordinary drums which the Batimbo (drummers) used during special occasions of the country. Afterwards, visit the National museum and the Gitega city tour including the catholic village.Dinner and night at Tropitel Hotel.
Day 04: Gitega – Ruvubu National Park – Gitega B-D
Drive south, Nyanza in no small palm tree plantation and visit the palm oil production. Later on, have nature walk-off Kigwena Forest Reserve; home to monkeys, baboons and various bird species.
Dinner and overnight at Tanganyika Blue Bay Resort.
Day 05: Gitega – Nyanza- Kigwena Forest B-D
Drive south, Nyanza in no small palm tree plantation and visit the palm oil production. Later on, have nature walk-off Kigwena Forest Reserve; home to monkeys, baboons and various bird species. Dinner and overnight at Tanganyika Blue Bay Resort.
Day 06: Mugara Hot Spring – Bujumbura B-D
Visit the Hot springs of Mugara comprising two falls that form a basin of downstream. The springs also enter Lake Tanganyika with a natural flow. After, visit the fishing village then return to Bujumbura with a stop at Blue Bay Resort for fishing. Dinner and overnight at King’s Conference Hotel.
Day 07: Depart Bajumbura B
Day at leisure before traveling back home.
