Chhattisgarh, carved out of Madhya Pradesh came into being on 1 November 2000 as the 26th State of the Union. It fulfills the long-cherished demand of the tribal people. In ancient times the region was known as Dakshin-Kausal.
This finds mention in Ramayana and Mahabharata also. Between the sixth and twelfth centuries Sarabhpurias, Panduavanshi, Somvanshi, Kalchuri and Nagvanshi rulers dominated this region. Kalchuris ruled in Chhattisgarh from 980 to 1791 A.D. With the advent of Britishers in 1854, Raipur gained prominence instead of capital Ratanpur.
Day 01 Arrive Delhi (By Flight)
Arrive Delhi, meet and assist on arrival, welcome with fresh flower garlands and transfer to hotel.
Later city tour of Delhi.
Delhi – India’s capital and a major gateway to the country. New Delhi also reflects the legacy the British left behind. The division between New & Old Delhi is the distinction between the capitals of the British & the Moghuls respectively.
Tourist Attractions: Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. Built by Shah Jahan, Red Fort (Photo Stop), which was also built by Shah Jehan. This massive fort was built from 1638 to 1648, Chandni Chowk and Rajghat – the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. Witness the India Gate, the Presidents House & the Parliament, Qutab Minar.
Day 02 Delhi – Raipur (By Flight)
After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Raipur.
On arrival, meet assist at transfer to the hotel.
Later, city tour of Raipur. Overnight in Raipur.
Raipur is the capital city of Chhattisgarh state in central India. In the center, the ancient Dudhadhari Math temple is a sacred monument dedicated to Lord Rama, decorated with scenes from the epic poem “Ramayana.” Nearby, a statue of the Hindu monk Swami Vivekananda towers over Vivekananda Sarovar lake. Southeast, Purkhouti Muktangan is an open-air museum featuring landscaped grounds, statues and tribal artifacts.
Visit: Mahant Ghasidas Samarak Sangrahalay, Swami Vivekanand Sarovar, Gandhi Udyan Park, ISKCON Raipur and Town Hall.
Day 03 Raipur – Bilaspur (By Road) (120 Km / 2H 20M appx.)
After breakfast, travel to Bilaspur
Bilaspur is located in the newly formed state of Chattisgarh and is a unique blend of nature, wildlife, tribal life, history and religion. Most of the city had been unexplored for a several years. The city is gaining popularity as a tourist destination as the government is taking an initiative to build the infrastructure and promote the unexplored sites. The city offers many activities to the tourist like sightseeing, nature walks and bird watching.
On arrival, transfer to the resort.
Enjoy lunch in the restaurant and take rest afterwards.
In the evening, set off to explore the jungle if time permits.
Have dinner and stay overnight at the resort.
Day 04 Bilaspur
Wake up early today and then leave for a captivating jungle safari in an open jeep for 2 hours.
Be excited to see the wilderness covered by mist. You can avail a nature walk as well if you wish to with the naturalist around the hill forest.
Post breakfast, embark upon a full day sightseeing tour of Amarkantak Hill station and the holy destinations, the origin of River Narmada etc.
Enjoy your packed lunch on the bank of the river and continue exploring the places till sunset.
Post this, get driven back to the resort and relax by the bonfire which will be followed by dinner and retire for the night.
Day 05 Bilaspur – Chaiturgarh Hills – Bilaspur (74 Km/ 2H 10M – One Way)
Start early today to visit the Chaiturgarh Hills and visit Ratanpur temple and Pali en route.
Afterwards, proceed to explore the beautiful forest covered hills and the 9th century built temple location which is known as Lafagarh.
Spend ample time over there, enjoy your lunch and then by the evening, return to your resort and relax after dinner.
Day 06 Bilaspur – Karanga Ghat – Bilaspur
Have an early breakfast today as you are going to start the tour early morning.
Make your destination as Karanga Ghat for the day.
Enjoy the drive with tribal life and water bodies on the road side, witness the beautiful waterfall in the most remote forest area called Satkhandi Caves, where the sunlight passes through and give you nice scenic experience.
Post lunch here, continue to explore the Majestic Hills if time permits.
In the evening, you will be taken back to the resort where you can relax with an evening tea and snacks.
Later you will be served dinner and enjoy the stay at the resort.
Day 07 Bilaspur – Raipur (120 Kms. / 2H 20M) / Raipur – Delhi (By Flight)
After breakfast, drive to Raipur International airport for flight to Delhi.
On arrival, meet assist and transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in Delhi.
Day 08 Depart Delhi (By Flight)
Departure transfer to Delhi International airport for flight to onward destination.
