Your guided tour of the Dolomites will give you a personalized experience as you explore the scenery. You’ll have the opportunity to spend most of your time off of the bus, allowing you time to get acquainted with Italy’s natural beauty. The Dolomites are known as an extremely diverse mountain range. As you travel through the range and see the different mountains that comprise the range, you’ll be amazed by how different each set of mountains is. You’ll see glaciers in the distance, soaring peaks, emerald green lakes surrounded by forests of pine and larch, with reflections of the mountains mirrored on their calm waters, and typical Tyrolean villages clinging to the mountainsides.
During your first stop, you’ll learn about the history and culture of the mountain’s residents as you make your way to Cortina. Cortina, is one of the most famous mountain villages in the Dolomites range. Here you will have the opportunity to view the local shops and take in this popular cosmopolitan ski resort.
At certain points throughout your tour, you’ll stop and enjoy the spectacular views of the Dolomites. Standing 7,500 feet tall, the Dolomites will give you a great perspective on the natural world. Gaze out across a myriad of peaks and valleys as far as the eye can see. Here you can enjoy an optional short walk along an easy trail beneath the towering peaks to admire neighboring peaks of the Sesto region and the deep verdant valleys several thousand feet below.
On your next stop, you will be taken to Lake Misurina, where you can have the opportunity to take in this enchanting and historical location. Known as the largest natural lake in Cadore, this majestic area lies on the route of the Dolomites Gold Cup Race and is surrounded by pine forests. Take some free time to go on a stroll around the lake and check out the local shops and restaurants. You can try a traditional Dolomite lunch (at your own expense).
Before concluding your tour of the Dolomites, you’ll be taken to a photo stop of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Located at an altitude of 7,500 feet, capture one of the best views of the mountain, where you can gaze out across a myriad of peaks and valleys as far as the eye can see.
