The Republic of the Congo, also called Congo-Brazzaville, is a central African nation with rainforest reserves that are habitats for gorillas. Its capital city, Brazzaville, lies across the Congo River from Kinshasa, the capital of neighboring Democratic Republic of the Congo. Brazzaville’s highlights include traditional craft markets and the mid-20th-century Basilique Sainte-Anne, with a green-tiled roof and spire.
Day 01:Arrive Kigali city
Arrival Kigali meet and assist at the airport and embark on the journey to Kigali city transfer to hotel and enjoy late lunch or dinner.
Overnight in hotel
Day 02: Kigali – Bukavu
After breakfast and check out of the lodge to meet with your as you embark on the journey to Bukavu via Nyungwe forest where you will have a view of lake kivu and proceed to Hotel .
Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03: Lowland Gorilla trekking
After breakfast drive for a ride to the park offices where you will be briefed about the do’s and don’t while in the habitat of lowland gorillas. In Africa, this is the best place to trek lowland gorillas since Rwanda and Uganda only have mountain gorillas. As usual gorilla trekking lasts between 30 minutes to a full-day excursion. But once you meet the gorillas, only an hour is allowed to take photographs, interact and learn certain behaviors of Gorillas. After trekking the lowland gorillas, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Breakfast, packed lunch, Dinner.

Day 04: Nature walks and waterfall visit
After breakfast drive to the park for the nature walk where you will be in position to sight out different wildlife along the way, visit the tea plantations and proceed the walk towards Tshiabati waterfall that runs across two rivers. You will be in a position to sight out different water birds and other mammals along the shores of the two rivers. After the walk return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 05: Transfer to Goma
After breakfast check out of the lodge and drive to Goma. The journey from Bukavu to Goma requires a speed boat which takes about 3-4 hours to cross over from Bukavu to Goma while enjoying the cool breath. Upon arrival to Goma, enjoy your lunch and proceed to the park headquarters of Virunga national park for the gorilla permit then proceed and check-in at any hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 06: 1st Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast pack the lunch box, and have a drive to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, head to the wild and start the adventurous activity of encountering mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. This trek lasts between 30 minutes to full-day allowing just one hour in presence of mountain gorillas for interaction and photo taking. Once you are done with your 1st gorilla trek, return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner. overnight in Hotel.
Day 07: 2nd Gorilla trekking
After breakfast pack your lunch and meet with your driver for the 2nd gorilla trekking adventure. In this 2nd trek, you will be offered a different gorilla group different from the one you trekked the previous day in order to have a different experience in the jungle. After the trek, return to the lodge for dinner.
Overnight in Hotel.
Day 08: Chimpanzee trekking
After breakfast back the back pack with a lunch box and snack and spend a day trekking chimpanzee in Mahura forest. Like gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking also lasts between 30 minutes and 7 hours or even a full day. Once the habituated chimpanzees are allocated, only one hour is allowed in presence of chimpanzees taking photographs, and interacting with them. After the one hour of chimpanzee trekking, return to the lodge for dinner overnight in Hotel.
Day 09: Mount Nyiragongo hike (ascend)
After breakfast check out of the lodge and have a drive to office for a briefing before proceeding to Kibati patrol post where mount Nyiragongo hike starts. Be at thee place in time since the hike starts at exactly 10:00am. During the hike, you will be in position to sight out different wildlife including primates, mammals and bird species. Have an overnight at the summit as you enjoy the clear view of the lava in the night as it glows.
Dinner and overnight in Tent .
Day 10: Descend Mount Nyiragongo – Kigali Departure
After breakfast at the summit ready to descend at exactly 6:30 am in the morning. Upon arrival at Kibati and drive back to Kigali Rwanda for lunch Later departures transfer to the airport to catch the flight for onward journey.
