Gabon, a country along the Atlantic coast of Central Africa, has significant areas of protected parkland. The forested coastal terrain of its famed Loango National Park shelters a diversity of wildlife, from gorillas and hippos to whales. Lopé National Park consists of mostly rainforest. Akanda National Park is known for its mangroves and tidal beaches.
Day 01: Libreville
Arrive Libreville meet and assist at the Airport and transfer to hotel.
Overnight in Libreville.
Day 02- 03: Libreville – Matshogo Village B-D, B-L-D
Explore the city visiting its market and seeing some of the remaining examples of early colonial architecture. From here e drive to forested interior, reaching a Village populated by the Mitshogo and Bobongo people. While here we witness a very special and unique to Gabon ceremony. That of the Bwiti belief system. This is a Secret society based on indigenous beliefs, where intakes seek to communicate with the spirit world, and a highlight of the trip.

Day 04: Lambarene B-L-D
Head to Lambarene on an island in the Ogooue river. Lambarene is known for its lakes, with several endemic birds and fish species, as well as the Schweitzer hospital. Established in the early 20th century and a centre for research into malaria. Spend the night in hospital guestroom for a sense of the history of the town.
Day 05: Oguemoue Lake B-L-D
This morning we continue by boat along the Ogooue River, a stunning journey which give a sense of how the first European explores of this region must have felt. We then reach our basefor the next few days, Oguemoue Lake.
Overnight tented camp.
Day 06 – 08: Oguemoue Lake B-L-D
Three full days to explore Oguemoue. The wildlife here is rich and includes Elephant, Hippos, Crocodile, Gorillas, Chipanzees and numerous antelope species, as well as huge number of bird species. However as in any forest environment, it requires a bit of luck and determination to see. Accompanied by local guides venture into the forests and along the lakee each day in search of the iconic wildlife that lives here. We also have the opportunity to visit local communities and learn about their tradition.

Day 09: Lambarene B-L-D
After morning excursion, we make our way back to Lambarene in the afternoon.
Overnight in Schweitzer hospital guest room.
Day 10: Lambarene – Libreville Depart B
Return to Librevillle departure transfer to Airport to catch the flight for onward Journey
