The place derives its name from ‘Gujaratta’ meaning the land of Gurjars who passed through Punjab and settled in some parts of Western India. They were the sub tribes of the Huns who ruled the area during 8th and 9th centuries AD. The history of Gujarat dates back to 2000 BC.
It is believed that Lord Krishna evacuated Mathura and settled his new capital on the west coast of Surashatra at Dwarka. Gujarat is bounded by the Arabian Sea on the west, Pakistan and Rajasthan in the north and northeast respectively, Madhya Pradesh in the southeast and Maharashtra in south. Gujarat with the longest coastline (1290km) in the country is renowned for its ancient temples, virgin beaches, and historic capitals replete with immense architectural assets, wildlife sanctuaries and hill resorts.
Besides its varied destinations, this industrially advanced state is also known for its fascinating handicrafts, textiles, mouthwatering cuisine, lively fairs, festivals, and the colourful lifestyle.
Day 01 Arrive Ahmedabad (By Flight)
Arrival in Ahmedabad with fresh flower garlands. Meet assist and transfer to the hotel.
Later half day city tour.
Overnight in Ahmedabad.
Ahmedabad, also known as Amdavad is the second largest city of west India and the largest city in Gujarat. Ahmedabad was also the former state capital of Gujarat. Ahmed Shah I founded this city on the banks of the Sabarmati river in 1411 and thus named as Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad is also known for its association with the Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation and is one of the India’s foremost industrial centres. It is a place where tradition and modernity co-exist in perfect harmony.
Bhadra fort -is one name that indeed deserves a special mention. Constructed in the year 1411 A.D. during the rule of Marathas, it was established by Sultan Ahmad Shah, the founder of Ahmedabad city.
Teen Darwaza – is an architectural marvel, the beauty of which is surely going to leave you awestruck. Consisting of gorgeous arched gates, Teen Darwaza is one of the longest as well as the oldest gateways of the Ahmedabad city. It was established in the year 141 A.D. by Sultan Ahmed Shah, who founded the city of Ahmedabad.
Jhulta Minar – Ahmedabad is well known for its swaying minarets, more commonly known as Jhulta Minar. A classic example of superb craftsmanship, Jhulta Minar is actually a part of the mosque Siddi Bashir. The mosque has been constructed in such a manner that, if you apply a little force on its upper arc, the Minar tends to sway. For kids, Jhulta Minar in Ahmedabad, India is a real fun place.
Day 02 Ahmedabad – Gondal (By Road) (220 Kms. / 4 hrs. appx.)
After breakfast, transfer to Gondal.
Later, in the afternoon visit the Palace and surroundings.
Evening visit the Virpur Jalaram Temple
Overnight in Gondal.
Gondal is a city and a municipality in Rajkot district in the Indian state Gujarat. Gondal state was one of the eight first class princely states of Kathiawar.
Naulakha Palace – Is the oldest extant palace in Gondal, dating back to the 17th century. It has legendary stone carvings with exquisite “jharokhas” balconies, a fabulous pillared courtyard, delicately carved arches, and a unique spiral staircase. The large chandelier-lit “durbar” hall court house witnesses stuffed panthers, gilt wooden furniture, and antique mirrors. The Private palace museum displays an impressive display of silver caskets which were in the services of carrying messages and gifts for Maharajah Bhagwat Sinhji on his silver jubilee as ruler of Gondal.
The Royal Garages – have an extensive collection of vintage and classic cars, for which it has been famous all over the world
The “Samadhi” of Shri Jalaram Bapa is on the feet of God Shri Ram Chandra. This is by the enterance, just on the Left side of the Big Gate of the “Dela”. The “JHOLI-DANDA” is kept in the Transparent Cup-board and Shri Hanumanji’s Idol is also Placed near the Samadhi. There are three GIANT COPPER POTS in the Temple which was given by “GANGA MAIYA” filled with the “PAVITRA JAL” of Ganga, yamuna and sarawati rivers. The water from these pots never get empty. Moreover no one had suffered from any disease after drinking this “JAL”. There are also pair of large wheels for grinding the wheat in the Temple given by the king of the Dhrangdhra to Shri Jalaram Bapa.
Day 03 Gondal – Junagadh – Somnath (By Road) (154 Kms. / 4.5 hrs. appx.)
After breakfast, drive to Somnath via Junagadh.
Visit the Junagadh Ashok Rock Edict,Junagadh Museum and later Darshan at Somnath Temple.
Overnight Somnath Veraval.
Junagadh was the capital of the Junagadh state under the Muslim rulers of Babi Nawabs. In Gujarati, “Junagadh” means an ancient fort. The town of Junagadh takes its name from the fort that enclosed the medieval town.
Ashok Rock Edict – Ashoka’s Major Rock Edicts refer to 14 separate major Edicts of Ashoka. They are all inscribed on a rock located outside the town of Junagadh on the Saurashtra peninsula in the state of Gujarat.
Durbar Hall Museum – Durbar Hall Museum houses a large collection of silver chains, chandeliers, thrones, palanquins, weapons and armour from the days of the Nawabs. There is also a portrait gallery of the Nawabs. This museum was once the hall where the Nawabs held their Darbars assemblies.
Somnath Temple – The legendary shore temple of Somnath is located near Veraval and is about 80 kms from Junagadh. The Somnath temple is one of the twelve most sacred shrines dedicated to the Lord Shiva. The temple contains the jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva. This temple has a very long history. According to the legends, the Somnath temple is very old and was originally built in gold by the Somraj, the Moon God.
Day 04 Somnath – Porbandar – Dwarka (By Road) (230 Kms. / 5.5 hrs. appx.)
After breakfast, drive to Dwarka onway visit Porbander.
Visit the Home of Mahatma Gandhiji.
Evening arrival at Dwarka , evening Visit of Temple Dwarka. Overnight in Dwarka.
Porbandar, the coastal heritage town of Gujarat is located on the Saurashtra peninsula, on the Arabian Sea.
Kirti Mandir – Kirti Mandir was the house of the Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba, his wife. This place is situated near the place where the Mahatma Gandhi was born. This place is now a small museum and also has a Gandhian library and a prayer hall.
Dwarkadhish Temple / Jagat Mandir – Dwaraka is known all over the world for the Dwarkadhish temple, the ‘Lord of Dwarka’. This temple is also known as the Jagat Mandir or the temple of the world. This temple was constructed over 1400 years ago and houses the image of Lord Krishna. This temple is one of the most famous pilgrimage place for the Hindus and attracts pilgrims from all over the world.
Day 05 Dwarka

Dwarka Temple – Dwarka. Overnight in Dwarka.
Dwaraka is located on the extreme western end of Kathiawar peninsula, where the River Gomti meets the Arabian Sea. Dwaraka is one of the four most important holy places of the Hindus and attracts tourists from all over the world. The Lord Krishna also established his capital at Dwaraka after he left Mathura. The importance, foundation, planning and glory of Dwaraka as the golden city is described in various Hindu epics like Mahabharata, Harivamsha, Sijupdlavadha, Bhagvad Gita, Skand Purana, Vishnu Purana and Mahabharat. The architecture of the old Dwaraka city was majestic and wonderful.
Beyt Dwaraka -A pilgrimage to Dwaraka is not complete until a visit has been made to the Beyt Dwaraka. It is a Hindu temple on the island off the coast. The temple dates from the 19th century and contains a series of shrines and images of Krishna and his 56 consorts. The archaeological excavations have revealed Harappan artifacts dating from the 2nd millennium BC.
Okha -Okha is a small port at the head of the Gulf of Kutch and is about 30 kms north of Dwaraka. The island nearby is connected with the legend of Vishnu slaying the demon.
Day 06 Dwarka – Rajkot (By Road) (235 Kms. / 4.5 hrs. appx.)
After Breakfast drive to Rajkot.
Afternoon visit Rajkot and nearby places.
Rest of the day at Leisure. Overnight Rajkot.
The beautiful city of Rajkot is located on the banks of the Aji River and Nyari River. Rajkot is well-known for its royal living. The city is also famous for its handicrafts and silver jewellery. It is the fourth largest city in Gujarat. Rajkot is a multicultural city and is a part of Kathiyawad and people of Rajkot are famous as Kathiyawadi’s.
Watson Museum – The Watson Museum and Library commemorates the work of Colonel John Watson, political agent from 1886 to 1889. It is a jumbled attic of the collection with the 3rd century inscriptions and a delicate ivory work overseen by a marble statue of Queen Victoria
Rashtriya Shala – Rashtriya Shala was founded by Mahatma Gandhi which has a center of patola weaving.
Jagat Mandir – Jagat Mandir is beautiful carved temple of Shri Ramkrishna Paramhansa. It is made of red stones.
Lal Pari Lake and Randerda -Lal Pari Lake and Randerda is a picturesque picnic spot, situated about 5 kms. from Rajkot.
Day 07 Radjkot – Ahmedabad (By Road) (214 Kms. / 4 hrs. appx.)
After Breakfast, drive to Ahmedabad,
On arrival check in at Hotel, Afternoon half day sightseeing of Ahmedabad.

Sidi Saiyad Mosque – was built in 1573 and is located in the largest city of Gujarat, Ahmedabad. The Mosque was built by Sidi Saiyad who was a slave of Sultan Ahmad Shah. It is one of the most famous mosques of Ahmedabad and was the last mosque that was built in Gujarat by the sultanate and is also regarded as one of the holiest places in Gujarat.
Swaminarayan Temple-The first and foremost Swaminarayan temple was built at Kalupur in Ahmedabad. Being the most prominent temple, it is always thronged by people. People come from different parts of the country and congregate here in this temple to seek the blessings of the deity. Dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan, the temple boasts of its exquisite wooden carvings.
Afternoon visit Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar is one of the largest and most prominent temples in the entire state of Gujarat. Located in Gandhinagar city, the famous Akshardham temple is a place, which consists of a number of things under one roof like art, education, architecture, exhibitions and research. It is truly an architectural masterpiece.
