The excitement begins as you meet up with a local guide to explore the must-see sights of St. Petersburg, as well as a few secret spots along the way. Start in the renowned Palace Square and soak in the outstanding architecture of the Winter Palace as well as the Hermitage, the second largest art museum in the world. A walk down Nevsky Prospekt, the city’s main thoroughfare, will amaze you with its Stroganov Palace, the 19th century Kazan Cathedral, and the elaborate Church of the Saviour on the Spilled Blood. While here, take a break for a delicious lunch in a popular cafe serving traditional Russian cuisine including plenty of borscht, bliny and pickles.
Of course no visit to Russia would be complete without experiencing the Metro! Step into the grand Vitebsky Railway Station, the first-ever railway station in the city, to get an idea of how the locals travel about in grand style. We will then take you to an old local market where you’ll learn all about local food and snacks and how locals go about their daily shopping. After the market discovery your tour comes to an end. you can then return to your ship full of memorable moments of the charming city of St. Petersburg!
