Explore some of our favourite corners of Sri Lanka before some well-earned beach time in the Maldives.
Begin with two nights in Galle Fort where you’ll stay at the Amangalla, a building which dates back to 1684 and has been a hotel since 1864, a most fitting venue from which to discover this fascinating historic town and its rich atmosphere.
Next follow the southern coast around to Yala National Park and two nights at the luxurious Chena Huts, the finest place to stay between leopard-spotting safaris.
Head northward into the lush heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country, a place of rolling hills covered in verdant plantations, staying at the colonial Thotalagala. Take in the views and be shown around a tea factory founded by Thomas Lipton in the 19th century.
Finally, after one night outside of Colombo, fly west to the Maldives for five blissful days of relaxation at a sumptuous island resort. Snorkel in gin-clear waters over vibrant reefs, enjoy some spa time and discover this paradise archipelago at your own pace.
Day 01 Arrive Colombo
Arrive Colombo, meet assist and transfer to the hotel.
Depending upon the arrival, time the city tour of Colombo will be done.
If time permits, the city tour will be done on this day. Otherwise, city tour will be done on next morning.

Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, has a long history as a port on ancient east-west trade routes, ruled successively by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. That heritage is reflected in its its architecture, mixing colonial buildings with high-rises and shopping malls. The imposing Colombo National Museum, dedicated to Sri Lankan history, borders sprawling Viharamahadevi Park and its giant Buddha.
Day 02 Colombo – Sigriya (By Road)
After breakfast, transfer to Sigiriya.
En route visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and Dambulla Cave Temple.
On completion proceed to Sigiriya.
Dambulla is a city, situated in the Matale District, Central Province of Sri Lanka, situated 148 km north-east of Colombo, 43 km north of Matale and 72 km north of Kandy. Due to its location at a major junction, it is the centre of vegetable distribution in the country.
Sigiriya or Sinhagiri is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres high.

Minneriya National Park is a national park in North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The area was designated as a national park on 12 August 1997, having been originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938.
Day 04 Sigriya – Matale – Kandy By Road Duration 03 hrs. approx.

Matale often written as Mathale, is the administrative capital and largest city in the Matale District, Central Province, Sri Lanka. It is 142 kilometres from Colombo and near Kandy. Surrounding the city are the Knuckles Mountain Range, the foothills were called Wiltshire by the British.
Kandy is a large city in central Sri Lanka. It’s set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforest. The city’s heart is scenic Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), which is popular for strolling. Kandy is famed for sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) shrine, celebrated with the grand Esala Perahera annual procession.
Day 05 Kandy

Day 07 Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya is a city in the tea country hills of central Sri Lanka. The naturally landscaped Hakgala Botanical Gardens displays roses and tree ferns, and shelters monkeys and blue magpies. Nearby Seetha Amman Temple, a colorful Hindu shrine, is decorated with religious figures. Densely forested Galway’s Land National Park is a sanctuary for endemic and migratory bird species, including bulbuls and flycatchers.
Day 08 Nuwara Eliya – Yala By Road Duration 04 hrs. approx.

Yala National Park is a huge area of forest, grassland and lagoons bordering the Indian Ocean, in southeast Sri Lanka. It’s home to wildlife such as leopards, elephants and crocodiles, as well as hundreds of bird species. Inland, Sithulpawwa is an ancient Buddhist monastery. Nearby caves contain centuries-old rock paintings. Southwest, Magul Maha Viharaya also has ancient Buddhist ruins. Both are pilgrimage sites.
Day 09 Yala
Today after breakfast check out and proceed to do a Jeep Safari in Yala
On completion return to the hotel and relax.

Day 10 Yala – Bentota By Road Duration 04 hrs. approx.
After breakfast proceed to Galle and do a city tour of Galle
On completion proceed to Bentota
En route visit a Turtle hatchery and do a boat ride though the Mangroves of Bentota river

Galle is a city on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It’s known for Galle Fort, the fortified old city founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century. Stone sea walls, expanded by the Dutch, encircle car-free streets with architecture reflecting Portuguese, Dutch and British rule. Notable buildings include the 18th-century Dutch Reformed Church. Galle Lighthouse stands on the fort’s southeast tip.
Day 11 Bentota
After breakfast spend the day at leisure

Bentota is a resort town on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast. Its long Bentota Beach stretches north, where it becomes a sandy strip known as Paradise Island, parallel to Bentota Lagoon. Coral-rich dive sites include Canoe Rock. On Bentota River, centuries-old Galapota Temple has a large Buddha statue. Southeast is Lunuganga, the estate and gardens of architect Geoffrey Bawa. Northeast is his brother Bevis’s Brief Garden.
Day 12 Bentota

Day 13 Bentota – Colombo Airport – Male
After breakfast, transfer to Colombo airport for flight to Male.
On arrival, meet assist and transfer to the resort by sea plane / speedboat.
Overnight in Maldives.
Malé is the densely populated capital of the Maldives, an island nation in the Indian Ocean. It’s known for its mosques and colorful buildings. The Islamic Centre (Masjid-al-Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Al Auzam) features a mosque, a library and a distinctive gold dome. Near the harbor, a popular fish market offers the day’s catch, and a produce market is stocked with local fruit.
Day 14 – 15 – 16
In Maldives.
Relax at the beach resort.
Enjoy water activities.
Day 17 Depart Maldives
After breakfast, transfer to Male Airport by sea plane / speedboat for the flight to onward destination.
