Founded in 1814 at the cradle of the Asiatic Society of Bengal (at the present building of the Asiatic Society, 1 Park Street, Kolkata), Indian Museum is the earliest and the largest multipurpose Museum not only in the Indian subcontinent but also in the Asia-Pacific region of the world. With the foundation of Indian Museum in 1814, the Museum movement started rolling in India and through the years from then, got a new fillip and great momentum.
Since then, it has so magnificently developed and culminated into the fruitful existence of more than 400 museums in the country. The movement, which was started in 1814, in fact was the beginning of a significant epoch initiating the socio-cultural and scientific achievements of the country. It is otherwise considered as the beginning of the modernity and the end of mediaeval era.
Day 01 Arrive Mumbai (By Flight)
After reaching Mumbai airport, meet our representative who’ll guide you to one of our listed hotels. Check-in at the hotel. After resting for a while embark on a guided tour to Mumbai. The major tourist attractions of Mumbai include Prince of Wales Museum, Marine Drive, Parliament House and the Jain temple. In the evening return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 02 Mumbai
After breakfast, proceed towards Elephanta caves for a sightseeing tour. These caves are located on an island, few miles away from the Gateway of India. These caves can be reached by ferry from the Gateway of India. This rock-cut cave temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Elephanta caves comprise of seven caves of which Mahesh Murti cave is of great importance. In this cave Lord Shiva is shown as a creator, protector and destroyer. Return to the hotel in the evening for an overnight stay.
Day 03 Mumbai – Ahmedabad (BY Flight)
After breakfast, proceed to visit other major attractions of Mumbai. The attractions scheduled for the day include Marine drive, Mahalakshmi temple, Kanheri Caves and the Bombay Museum. Return to the hotel for lunch. Relax for the afternoon in your hotel room.
In the evening transfer to airport for flight to Ahmedabad. On reaching Ahmedabad, check-in at one of our listed hotels. Stay the night at the hotel.
Day 04 Ahmedabad
Post breakfast moves out on a sightseeing tour of Ahmedabad, visit the Calico Museum of textile. This is one of India’s finest specialized museums. Moving head during the day visit the other major tourist attractions like the Gandhi Ashram, Sidi Sayed Mosque, Bhadra Fort and the Kankaria Lake. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 05 Ahmedabad
Next morning after brteakfast, proceed for a museum tour of Ahmedabad. The major museums to visit include Sardar Patel National Memorial, Sabarmati Ashram and the Hussain Doshi Gufa. After the visit return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 06 Ahmedabad – Kolkata (By Flight)
In the morning, transfer to the Ahmedabad airport to board a flight to Kolkata. On reaching Kolkata, meet our representative at the airport who’ll guide you to one of our listed hotels. Check-in at the hotel. Relax for a while in the cozy comfort of your hotel room. In the evening take a leisurely walk to local market of Kolkata. Stay the night at the hotel.
Day 07 Kolkata
In the morning after breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of Kolkata. The major tourist attractions of Kolkata include Victoria Marble Palace, Science City, Metro Rail, Memorial Hall, Belur Math, Mother Teresa Home, China Town and the Vidyasagar Setu. Spend the evening at leisure. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 08 Kolkata–Bagdogra (By Flight)/ Bagdogra–Darjeeling (69 Km/ 2H 30M)
Post breakfast, transfer to the Kolkata airport to board a flight to Bagdogra. After arrival at Bagdogra airport, meet our representative who’ll escort you to the car that waits to take you to Darjeeling. The low hilly terrain of Darjeeling provides it with a serene and scenic beauty. While on the drive to Darjeeling you will visit Teesta river flowing, adding to the beauty of the place. The place is famous for its lush green tea plantation, verdant meadows and a beautiful township. On reaching Darjeeling, get transferred to one of our listed hotels. Check-in at the hotel and take some rest. In the evening take a leisurely walk to explore the place for alluring and mesmerizing beauty. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 09 Darjeeling
In the morning post breakfast, head straight for a full day excursion to Mirik, a sleepy hill town in the Darjeeling district. The two and half hours drive is a wonderful scenic drive through tea gardens laid on the hill slopes. As you reach Mirik, visit Mirik Lake the top tourist attraction of the place. Sit along the bank of the lake and relax. You may enjoy boating in the lake or take the arching footbridge, cross over the other side of the lake and explore the Dhupi forest. In the evening return to Darjeeling for an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10 Darjeeling
Next morning post breakfast, take an excursion to Tiger Hill that is famous for the panoramic views of Kangchenjunga and Mount Everest. The place is visited by several tourists to witness the spectacular Sunrise, when the first ray of sun shoots ahead and shed pink light upon the Kangchejunga. During your visit to Tiger hill you can also view the Mt. Everest that peeps through the two other peaks standing by its side. In the later part of the day you may visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute Zoo that consists of two museums the Everest Museum and the Mountaineering Museum. The zoo and the two museums are run by the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute.
In the afternoon visit the Ghoom Monastery and enjoy the toy train ride for a coveted experience. Retire for the night at the hotel.
Day 11 Darjeeling–Bagdogra (69 Km/ 2H 30M) / Bagdogra–Delhi (By Flight)
In the morning post breakfast, transfer to the Bagdogra airport to board your flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi, check-in at one of listed hotels. Afternoon is free to rest and relax. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 12 Delhi
Next morning after breakfast, proceed to visit the major museums of Delhi. The major museums of Delhi include Air Force Museum, Archaeological Museum, Craft Museum and the Gandhi Museum. The museums of Delhi fascinate any visitors who are curious to know about the heritage and history of Delhi. Stay the night at hotel.
Day 13 Delhi
In the morning start for city tour of Delhi covering Laxmi Narayan temple, India Gate, Parliament House, Swaminarayan Akshardham temple. In the afternoon visit India Gate, Qutub Minar and Chhatrapur temple. In the evening return to the hotel for a sumptuous dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
