Nagaland, the land of the hospitable and warm Nagas, lies in the corner of India’s North-East bordering Myanmar. It has always evoked a sense of awe and wonder in the minds of people including the visitors. Although most of the Nagas have now become Christians, they still preserve the remnants of their early animist culture and ancient traditions.
Tuophema Tourist Village Historically, the Nagas have always been brave warriors. Topographically, Nagaland is mostly a hilly region with a pleasant and salubrious climate throughout the year, except for a small region in the foothills.
Nagas are by race, of the Mongoloid stock and speak Tibeto-Burman group of languages. But English and Hindi are widely spoken and language is no problem in Nagaland. Shilloi Lake Colourful life and culture are an integral part of the 16 officially recognized Naga tribes of Nagaland.
Day 01 Arrive Kolkata (By Flight)
Arrive Kolkata, Meet assist and transfer to Hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02 Kolkatta – Dimapur (By Flight) / Dimapur – Kohima (68 Kms / 02 hrs)
After Breakfast Proceed to Dimapur. Met on arrival and drive 74 km to Kohima, Enroute stop at Zubza check post 16 km before Kohima. Later on arrival in Kohima checkin at the hotel Japfu and have lunch. In the afternoon visit to Nagaland Emporium. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 Kohima- Tuophema (By Road) (37 Kms / 01 hrs 18 min)
After Breakfast Proceed to visit Vishwema Village Angamai Tribe and Kigwema Village. Later drive to Tuophema. On arrival chek- into Tuophema Tourist Village. In the evening enjoy Nagal folk music and dance. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04 Tuophema – Wokha – Mokokchung (By Road) (112 Kms / 04 hrs)
After Breakfast Proceed to reach Mokokchung 1325 mts – the center of Ao Tribe. On the way stop at Longsa village for police check post and also visit LONGSA VILLAGE Lotha Tribe which is about 80 km before Mokokchung. Further drive to LONGKHIM village of Ao Tribe 14 KM before Mokokchung. Visit to a village house, Rock memorial, village rise mill etc. Later upon arrival in Mokokchung check-in at the Circuit house for overnight stay.
Day 05 Mokokchung
After Breakfast Proceed to Mopungchukit village. This village is permanent Mission Centre of Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang. Visit time pillar and Morung at the village. Rest of the day at leisure to explore the area on your own. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06 Mokochung – Tuensang (By Road) (83 Kms / 03 hrs 46 min)
After Breakfast Proceed to reach Tuensang 1371 mts. On the way stop at Chare town 60 km before Tuensang for police check-post. Enroute 30 km before Tuensang visit LONGKHIM Village of Sangtam tribe – Visit local Sangtam house and a small walk in the village. Later on arrival check-in at the Circuit house. Later in the afternoon visit TUENSANG Village of Cham Tribe, and explore around to see some of the finest traditional huts. Overnight at hotel.
Day 07 Tuensang – Mon (By Road) (150 Kms / 06 hrs 37 min appx)
After Breakfast Proceed to reach Mon via Tobu. Upon reaching Mon checkin at the ADC Rest House for overnight stay. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08 Mon
After Breakfast Proceed to visit Shangnyu village. Visit -village Morong, Shangnyu village museum, Shangnyu Ang house which is close to the museum, Rock memorials etc. In the afternoon drive to Chui Village to see Wangkhao Ang House – one of the best Ang houses with beautiful decoration. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09 Mon – Sonari – Sibsagar (By Road) (100 Kms / 04 hrs 30 min)
After Breakfast Proceed to Sibsagar in Assam. It was capital of Ahom Dynasty which ruled Assam for over 600 yrs. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10 Sibsagar – Dibrugarh (82 Km/2 hrs) / Dibrugarh – Kolkatta (By Flight)
After Breakfast Proceed to Dibrugarh airport to board flight to Kolkata. Met on arrival and transfer to hotel.Overnight at hotel.
Day 11 Depart Kolkata (By Flight)
Departure to onward destination.
