Cruise along tranquil and India’s largest salt lake lagoon – Chilka Lake and experience the culture and tradition that is vibrant in its tribal heartland. This provides you with an experience that combines landscape, folklore, dance, music, rituals, art and craft to give you an insight in the tribe’s way of life.
Each and every event in life such as birth, death, marriage, naming ceremony of a child, puberty by a girl, are connected with unique rituals and play an important role in their life. You will also visit their weekly markets known as haats where local tribal people gather once a week to barter, buy and sell their excess produce and stock.
Day 01 Arrive Delhi (By Flight)
Arrive Delhi, meet and assist on arrival, welcome with fresh flower garlands and transfer to hotel.
Later city tour of Delhi.
Delhi – India’s capital and a major gateway to the country. New Delhi also reflects the legacy the British left behind. The division between New & Old Delhi is the distinction between the capitals of the British & the Moghuls respectively.
Tourist Attractions: Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. Built by Shah Jahan, Red Fort (Photo Stop), which was also built by Shah Jehan. This massive fort was built from 1638 to 1648, Chandni Chowk and Rajghat – the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. Witness the India Gate, the Presidents House & the Parliament, Qutab Minar.
Day 02 Delhi – Bhubaneswar (By Flight)
Early Morning transfer to airport to catch flight to Bhubaneshwar. On arrival at Bhubaneshwar meet to our staff, transfer to hotel. Later proceed for half-day tour of the city that includes the 2nd century B.C. Jain Monk Caves at the twin hills of Khandagiri and Udaygiri, tribal museum etc. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 Bhubaneshwar – Baliguda (By Road) (280 kms / 4-5 hrs)
After an early breakfast drive to Baliguda, Baliguda is in the district of Phulbani, through the beautiful countryside road full with small mountains of Sal forest, one of the entry point to the tribal highland of Orrisa. En-route visit weavers village at Itamati and some of the typical Orissan villages. Arrive at the hotel in the evening. Overnight at Baliguda.
Day 04 Baliguda
After breakfast visit to the Barakhamba area to trek to some of the remote villages of tattooed face Desia Kondh tribes. Trek back to road head drive to hotel. Rest of the time visit local market. Overnight hotel at Baliguda.
Day 05 Baliguda – Kothagargh – Rayagada (By Road) (156 kms / 5 hrs)
After breakfast you will depart to Belghar area visit of a few Kuttiya Kondha Tribal Villages & Weekly Market at Kothagarh. Proceed to explore the villages of the primitive Kutia Kondh Tribes, once famous for the human sacrifice. Living in the mountain / forest cores are friendly tribal community. Lunch on the way. Drive down to Rayaguda. Arrive in the evening. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06 Rayagada – Chatikona – Jeypore (By Road) (152 kms / 4.5 hrs approx)
Trekk to most primitive Dongria Kondh villages in the Niyamgiri hills.You can also see and enjoy the Dongria Kondhs men and women coming down from their mountains with different kinds of fruits and animals etc. to the weekly market. After visiting their villages , you can come down to see their interesting weekly tribal market where they mix with other community.The weekly market at Chatikona where Doms, Desias and Dongoriya Kondhas barter is an interesting event to watch. Later drive on to Jeypore. Enroute Kani tribal village. Overnight hotel at Jeypore.
Day 07 Jeypore – Anadeli – Lamptaput – Jeypore (160 km/ 4 hr approx)
Morning after breakfast, commence drive to visit is the home of the approximately 6000 members of the fierce Bondas (naked people). They live in the remote hills and keep themselves isolated. They grow rice by shifting cultivation and keep domesticated cows and goats. They can only be seen when they come to trade at the local market, and we must time our visit to coincide with the weekly market day on Thursday. The Bonda women are noticeable by their bead necklaces, striking brass and silver necklets and their shaved heads decorated with plaits of Palmyra leaves. You will also see the colourful Godabas, Parajas and Mali tribes.
Afternoon drive back to Jeypore en-route visiting the pottery village Bapaniguda, Siriguda and Paraja tribal village at Litiput.

Day 08 Jeypore – Gupteswar – Jeypore (By Road) (140 kms / 4 hrs)
After an early breakfast proceed to Gupteswar 75 km to visit the villages of very interesting Dhuruba tribe. Visit and walk through villages of Ramanguda, Dogariguda, Silpader, Talur etc. The Dhruba tribal males like to put ornaments living in the border of Madhya Pradesh. Visit the Cave temple of lord Shiva in the hidden mountain famous among the tribes. back to hotel at evening. Overnight hotel Jeypore.

Jeypore-Kunduli-Nandapur-Jeypore: Breakfast at hotel. Morning proceed to witness the biggest tribal weekly market of Sanaparoja & Mali tribes in Kunduli 65 km away via Sunabeda. It is a very colorful market. Later drive down to Nandapur to visit village of Sanaparoja tribes. Visit village Khilua. Saana Padar, Bada Padar with small trekking and later drive down to Jeypore.
Day 09 Jeypore – Lamptaput – Jeypore (By Road) (35 kms / 1 hr – One Way)
After breakfast drive to Machkund, soft trek to primitive Boro Gadaba villages. Watch the traditional dance called Dhemsa. Back to Jeypore en route Lamtaput market.

Day 10 Jeypore – Laxmipur – Rayagada (50 kms / 5 hrs)
Breakfast at hotel. Later drive to Rayagada en route visiting some Desia Kondh/ Paraja villages and also the Jagannath Temple & Tribal Museum at Koraput (The Jagannath Temple is a new temple built on 1972. Here Non Hindus are allowed inside the Temples and all activities are similar to Jagnnath Temple of Puri). Lunch on the way.
Overnight at Rayagada.
Day 11 Rayagada – Tapta-Pani – Chilka Lake (By Road) (257 kms / 5.5 hrs)
After breakfast drive towards Chilka en route visiting the Soura tribal villages and market. Also visit Taptapani on your way. if anywhere nature reveals its enigmatic charisma, it is here in Taptapani, an exotic world of wonder. Enjoy the nature close to your heart and carry the memory years to come. A hot spring which till dates the local habitat use on a mark of Blessing.
Overnight at Chilka.
Day 12 Chilka – Puri (By Road) (137 kms / 2.3 hrs approx)
Morning boat drive into Chilka lake, the largest brackish Water Lake in Asia. In winter Chilika aflutter with thousands of migratory birds as far as from Siberia. Visit Nalabana Bird Sanctuary. Reach Puri. Evening relax on the beach.
Overnight at hotel in Puri.
Day 13 Puri – Konark – Puri (By Road) (40 kms / 1 hr One Way)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Konark, visit Sun Temple, Konark (about 35kms) to visit the temple Chariot of the Sun God, built by King Langula Narasimha Deva in the 13th century AD in the golden era of Orissa art. Later drive back to Puri rest of the time visit Lord Jagannath temple, Sankaracharya’s Maths (Non Hindu are not allowed visit inside the temple) located on the downtown area of Puri.
Rest of the time leisure for individual activities.

Day 14 Puri – Bhubaneshwar (By Road) (70 kms / 1.3 hrs approx)
Morning proceed to Bhubaneshwar enroute visiting the colourful applique village of Pipili where you can see the colouful Orissan handicrafts and Dhauli Hill peace pagoda famous for the Ashokan rock edicts dating back to 2nd century BC afternoon visit of some of the ancient temples of Bhubaneshwar belonging to (7th-11th) century A. D. like Lingaraja temple, Parasurameswara temple, Mukteswara temple, Bramheswara temple, Raja-Rani temple etc. Overnight hotel at Bhubaneshwar.
Day 15 Bhubaneshwar – Delhi (By Flight) / Depart Delhi
After breakfast, free time till afternoon. Later transfer to airport to catch flight to Delhi.
On arrival at Delhi airport catch the flight to onward destination.
