Bari, the capital of Puglia region, is the second largest city in Southern Italy after Naples. Having grandiose buildings stepped in history, Bari encompasses the typical Italian flair, but at the same time, you can enjoy the beautiful views along the beach or have a walk in the lovely port area.
Your tour will take you to the Basilica of Saint Nicholas, the Cathedral of San Sabino and the Hohenstaufen “Swabian” Castle. Steeped in history, Bari’s historic center was once enclosed by medieval walls of which part remain.
Ride through narrow streets and passageways and admire the Murat quarter (Barivecchia or Old Bari) in the modern heart of the city. Witness the local women making pasta through open doors, children playing along ancient pathways and smell the delicious aroma of Italian cooking coming from every corner.
End your tour in the French part of the city and see the newly restored Petruzzelli Theatre, which is one of the most important opera houses in Italy after La Scala in Milan and the San Carlo Theatre in Naples.
