Private Jet Journey
Nepal offers the ultimate mountain country. Go for gold and head out on the high-octane paths to Everest or take a slower pace to explore the Himalayas and its breathtaking scenery. In Kathmandu find Buddhist monks praying at tiny temples or discover ornate stupas in the valley, dotted around World Heritage sights like jewels in a crown.
It is difficult to match Nepal for dramatic scenery: home to the world-famous, 8,848 metre high Mount Everest, it is a completely dominated by the Himalayan range. It has seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley alone – most of them ancient temple or palace complexes that display extraordinary craftsmanship.
The Nepalis’ complex blend of religious beliefs and traditions is reflected in the exquisite thangkas, gold-painted stupas and intricate carvings seen at every turn. Up in the hills around Kathmandu are the lovely rural retreats of Dhulikhel and Nagarkot, perfect two-night escapes from the city. Further west, by the serene Phewa Tal Lake and dominated by the sacred and unclimbed Fishtail Mountain, is the adventure capital of Pokhara.
To the south, on the grass plains of the Terai, is Chitwan National Park, where visitors go on elephant-back rides in search of tigers or one-horned rhinos. The holy town of Lumbini, with its famous bodhi tree, is the reputed birthplace of Buddha and is a great pilgrimage site.
Day 01 – 02: Kathmandu
Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, is set in a valley surrounded by the Himalayan mountains.
At the heart of the old city’s mazelike alleys is Durbar Square, which becomes frenetic during Indra Jatra, a religious festival featuring masked dances. Many of the city’s historic sites were damaged or destroyed by a 2015 earthquake.
Durbar Square’s palace, Hanuman Dhoka, and Kasthamandap, a wooden Hindu temple, are being rebuilt.
Day 03 – 04: Pokhara
Pokhara is a city on Phewa Lake, in central Nepal. It’s known as a gateway to the Annapurna Circuit, a popular trail in the Himalayas. Tal Barahi Temple, a 2-story pagoda, sits on an island in the lake. On the eastern shore, the Lakeside district has restaurants and many yoga centers.
In the city’s south, the International Mountain Museum has exhibits on the history of mountaineering and the people of the Himalayas.
Day 05 – 06: Chitwan National Park
In the southern region of Nepal, the jungles of Chitwan National Park await you with wildlife experiences like no other. Go in search of the majestic Royal Bengal tiger and watch the Greater one-horned rhinoceros roam free, while the great Asiatic elephants move about the jungles in herds.
Witness real wilderness in the jungles of Chitwan: go for a jeep safari in the depths of the forest or ride a silent canoe and catch wildlife by surprise. It is the closest and the ideal place to go for wildlife safari.
Day 07: Dhulikhel
Dhulikhel is one of the more popular places from which to observe the high Himalaya. From the edge of the ridge, a stunning panorama of peaks unfolds, from Langtang Lirung (7227m) in the west, through Dorje Lakpa (6966m) to the huge bulk of Gauri Shankar (7134m) and nearby Melungtse (7181m), and as far as Numbur (5945m) in the east.
