Renowned for its preservation of 19th century buildings, beautiful Fremantle sits at the mouth of the Swan River, serving as Perth’s main port. Your tram departs from Town Hall, passing Cappuccino Strip and a bevy of charming art galleries.
Victoria Quay features the Maritime Museum and bountiful E Shed Markets. Thereafter is the central Rail Station, followed by Fremantle Prison – one of eleven World Heritage labeled convict sites in Australia. Much of the building was built by inhabitant prisoners. Next is Esplanade Hotel, Fremantle’s finest hotel.
After reaching the Fishing Boat Harbor, you’ll board Captain Cook Cruises for a return trip on the lovely Swan River to Perth. The journey treats you to views of multi-million dollar homes, Old Swan Brewery and the Royal Perth Yacht Club. The option to purchase a glass of premium wine as you cruise is available.
Once in Perth, a double-decker bus will give you a bird’s-eye tour of Perth and King’s Park. You’ll want to arrange for transportation back to Fremantle, if necessary.
